I'm trying again, this time I've made sure I've swapped the pets around in the stable master a dozen times and logged on/off a few times as well!

Hmm... if that's the case, then anyone with that pet currently will have it disappear altogether when Cataclysm is live!

Does anyone know if the tamed "Silithid Creeper" remains on your character after copying?
Does this mean the demise of the blue scorpids completely?


OK I just tried copying the character again. It knew that I'd logged off in Thunder Bluff, and that was after taming the pet. Pet is still gone, and the first thing it does when I log on is opens the pet stable view (whilst in the middle of the grave yard) with the 2 remaining pets. Blue scorpids gone completely!

goddamned they inted to remoe the complete blue scorpid skin now? even for the hunters who already have them? this is just outrageous!!!! ffirst they remove the pretty brainbuhgs okay that's reasonable but this?!!!! why do tey ever want to remove a complete skin? I think blizzard is just trying to upset us!

Are you using the Launcher to start WoW or are you just clicking the Wow.exe file?

I get (or was getting... haven't went that route recently) an error trying to start WoW using the launcher, but if I click the wow.exe file the game loads fine.

Those are gorgeous scarab models! Wow. =O

I still see no reason not to add a little variety to the Silithid family. 4 skins is dull (and I know there's many other pet families that suffer from this as well). Look at some families like cats, wolves, spiders....each one has a whole bunch of different models. Blizzard could definitely add a few scarab/worker types into the Silithid family. Would liven it up a bit.

Ahem. If foxes and dogs can break away from the wolf family to become their own thang... then silithid scarabs (if they ever become tameable) really deserve more than just being another skin for the silithid cunning type - scarabs need to be a new tenacity family. That would give the bugs representation in all 3 groups.

Are you absolutely certain it was the Silithid Creeper and not the Silithid Swarmer that you tamed, though?

The Swarmer id # is the one that has changed into a worker-type for a quest in Cataclysm (when they probably should have used a new id), and should therefore be the one that disappears on transfer since those things probably aren't even classed as beasts.
The Creeper NPC seems to be entirely gone from the game, but is still in the database under the old blue model, so should survive the transfer.

Either way, it's clearly a bug that a legitimate pet should disappear entirely from the stable. If people report it, hopefully they'll either add that model back and use a new id for the new swarmer, or add a check for translating any swarmer pets to the same id as the creeper.

This...is...outrageous...indeed. Agnas got the Creeper npc but I dunno whether I should tempt to grab the swarmer and see what happens on a new toon.

Even if the beta has many glitches, if we don't make a protest to keep the blue scorpion now, it may end up being a permanent change.

That's good to know the Creeper has survived. Maybe they just thought ahead about the Swarmer then and removed it.

Yes, Wain, I am absolutely certain that I tamed the swarmer. Three times on three toons to try and get it into the beta. I can tell it was a swarmer due to the "swarm" that comes with them!

Anyway, we'll see how it goes over the next few patches. I'll hold on to the Swarmer on the toons I have it on anyway - just in case.
