No active account, no Cataclysm...
It's that simple!

Fix talents, then straight into dungeons. Gonna level almost exclusively like that. Trying to level in TBC was a nightmare some times.
Granted, I was through the gate as soon as I could, but just trying to find quest mobs or drops or items could take hours because of all the competition. Not to mention the fighting. There was a unofficial cease-fire for a short while, but soon all hell broke lose! Was fun, but got old pretty fast
No, I'm sticking to dungeons. That way I'll get decent gear, get rep (and I can save quests that give rep for later), and see new places. ^^
And if bosses still drop emblems, all the better

And there's also the thing about possibly missing out on pets that get phased during questlines.

Seriously though, the VERY first thing I'm prolly gonna do? Mount up on my flier and fly ANYWHERE I want lol
And that anywhere is prolly gonna be various places to go tame lots of new pets xD

I agree with you here. Probably start out with camping Grunter in the Blasted Lands.
After that I may be staring at the character select screen, trying to figure out what character I'll be playing in Cataclysm and figuring out a good way to tell that to my guild master.

/loading up backpack with 5 different types of pokeballs ...
whoops, wrong game. ^^; Maybe not though, after Cata I'm taking Cerah on the pet taming spree to end all pet taming sprees!

I'm going to stay up, with no sleep until I get to 85 (I want to atleast try and be close to Realm First

)...As long as I don't have college around the release date, otherwise I would be really really sad!

SIT and WAIT for eight hours trying to log...
Then create a Worgen Druid, female, and have the time of my life in my starting zones...
Then get back to playing my hunter, and take it nice and slow while leveling other alts as well.

The exp gap between 80-85 is at least as great as it was from 70-80, so unless you have a few days to kill with nonstop gaming that may be a tough goal.

I am planning on somehow leveling my hunter (or druid, not sure yet) main to 85 while at the same time leveling a worgen warrior tank. Plus I'll have to make some time for taming lost pets. But mostly it's leveling my main and leveling an alt. We'll see how that goes.

So.... 6 weeks out. Everyone ready yet?
(boub thinks its 11/2 and has been frighteningly right about other stuff

)
I don't know about you guys, but I'm having to reevaluate a lot of stuff.
1. Living the poke-hunter dream will happen before Cata launches.
2. New class combos come out before cata launches, giving people a chance to start off/set up chars they will be using soon.
3. I haven't seen any signs of new spirit beast hawks named chidori... which makes me sad.
Anyone else have a re-prioritization due to.. you know.. reality and blizz changing thier minds?

Wow, I was surprised to see this thread pop back up.
What I did:
After the Shattering, I,
1.
Started my Pokemon journey Went out and tamed a lot of new pets, though by some miracle I still haven't totally filled up
Cerah's stables yet. Still hoping for a raptor spirit beast.
2. Made my new, Undead Hunter,
Lydeea, and started her collection of black and white pets named after Tim Burton characters.

She's now level 51.
After Cata itself:
3. Made my new goblin alt, my enhancement shammy
Trixzie.
4. Leveled Cerah to 85 -- so I could tame even more pets, not that I've been sucessful *finding* any of the Cata ones yet.
5. I made a Worgen warlock, Liesa, just to see what the worgen experience was like. I liked worgens, but hated the new way of leveling a warlock. My first 'lock, Emielee, had to actually work for her demons, with gruelling quests just to summon them, then defeating them and earning their respect and (in my rp, at least), friendship in battle. Hell, even my imp required a short quest before getting him at level 1. Just recieving my demons from trainer, in contrast, seemed like cheating in comparison. I couldn't get into her, so she's joined other deleted toons in Blizzard's pixel heaven.
