People are really, really dumb about hunter pets. Yes, wolves are the highest dps for marks and surv hunters right now, but when random people start trying to tell BM hunters what pet to use, I just roll my eyes.
It matters for min/maxing, not for vault. Or heroics. Heh.

What really, REALLY gets me is people constantly posting recount scores in the REGULAR WotLK dungeons. In a 'it makes me laugh' sort of way.
I've been running at least one dungeon a day on Taigi, who is currently level 75, in order to get the daily badge reward. My aim is to have enough badges to buy at least one piece of t9 gear by the time Taigi hits 80. Well, when you random into a regular dungeon you'll be mixed in with people of all levels and gear amounts, and it constantly changes because you're still leveling. As long as the mobs and boss die in a reasonable manner with the LEAST amount of deaths in your party as possible, what does it matter?
But people STILL insist on posting DPS counts in my runs, and bragging over who is doing more/less. I just...I don't even understand the point of it at that level.

*snort* Even funnier when I see recount data in like....level 20-something dungeon runs. xD

Yes, it's out of hand. I have a feeling recount will matter a lot less in Cataclysm because if players try to go all-out, they're going to find themselves all out of HP instead.
I had a tank in ZF that just kept pulling tons of mobs, wouldn't wait for us mana-folk (I'm a mage on my alt), etc. They wiped at least two or three times because he just charged blindly in. I stood back and when I saw the iminent wipe, I ran. Hey, I'm not going to let some impatient tank's stupidity cost me yet another repair bill.
I hope they enjoy their rush-rush-rush tanking and blast-everything-into-oblivion DPS now, because I have a feeling there will be a lot more wiping in Cataclysm if people continue along that train of thought.

That's hilarious XD
I keep recount up for myself just to make sure I'm doing the same average amount of damage in my runs, and not slacking on putting shots up or anything, but I really see no point in the 'competition' before you hit heroics and raiding XD
Though I DID get a kick out of the one run when the high seventies-ish DK who kept bragging until Recount was posted...and I, the level 74 BM hunter, had done more than him XD He claimed afterwards it was because he hadn't gone back to train for several levels, but it still got a chuckle out of me.

God, that's really dumb, lol. If he was outdpsing people with downranked spells, then they were either many levels lower than him or lesser geared....or both. What a nub. xD
I absolutely refuse to link trash meters. They mean absolutely nothing. If someone INSISTS on lowbie boss meters, just to see how they're doing, fine, but otherwise, there's ABSOLUTELY no point.

I find having a DPS meter running can be useful. It can show when a DPS has just zoned into the dungeon, put himself on follow, and gone AFK to leech off the group.
I am not one to votekick on a whim, but I detest that sort of behavior. I know my skillset is not optimal for DPS. I am best at healing, good at taking, and competent at DPS. I may not top the meters, but I do the best I know how. I don't care of someone is top DPS or low DPS, as long as they are trying.

Oh I always have a dps meter running. I love seeing my own dps, check whether I'm measuring up to my own expectations, and so on. I agree that they're hugely useful. (I also like being able to double check when I see a dps sporting t9/t10 doing ~1k dps...)
I would also vote kick someone that afk'd to leech exp/emblems/loot. I hate that kind of behaviour, there's no excuse for taking advantage of people like that.

i always get tons of wispers or also raid warning messages like BM hunter switch MM or leave the dps slot to others. or, the latest time was in sartharion25 with 3add up..a mm hunter sayed BM hunter omg.. and i said look at the recount during the fight, Damage done section. and you wanna know something else? i won the mount, then he gently wispered me if i would sell him for 20K..i said roll a bm hunter, and start with taming a hamster.
