It seems that the new signature ability for BM outside of Kill Command is Focus Fire, as it has a 15s cd...and lasts 15s. 100% uptime.

Assuming the pet has a 5-stack of Frenzy, and that stealing that stack is a net dps increase (which might be encounter/movement dependent?).

No, it'll be a net DPS increase. Pet damage was reduced pretty heavily this patch, and hunter damage was buffed to compensate. My kill command regularly criticals for 15,000 or more at level 83, in quest gear. My pet is having problems hitting for 700 damage an attack, and criticals for barely 2,000. Pet hit points are seriously going to need tobe looked into too.

I am trying not to be EXTREMELY angry right now, since both Demonology and Unholy just got MASSIVE pet boosts.

Probably the plan is to tweak the hunters' damage first and then rebalance the pets, since now even BM hunters are going to be depending more on themselves than their pets. It would have been easier for Blizzard to mess with DKs and warlocks because their pets, while important, were still less of a factor in terms of their damage than the pets of BM hunters.

Except that Demonology's buffs just made the felguard more important for demonology then the BM hunters pet is for them, and the unholy changes made paying attention to the ghoul, maximizing buff uptime, and hitting transformation at the right time an important part of the spec, while this patch actually marginalized the importance of BM's pets. My pet's ARE holding aggro, but that's about all I can say about them. Then again currently at the very least bite is borked, so my pet's are doing sub-damage anyway.

At the moment, pet's are no where near being 30% of BM's damage, leading me to believe ((Or maybe just hope and PRAY)) that this is a stepping stone patch. I also think that because my pet's have less then half my hit points. Even my tenacity are topping out at 28,000 to my 41,000.

Reins of the Spectral Steed, Reins of the Spectral Wolf should give you a good reason to go to Tol Barad. Scepter of Az'Aqir will also be a good reason to level Archaeology. (More on those later)

so most likely alliance gets a spectral horse and horde get a spectral wolf for an mount?

This is my guess. Pets are royally borked at the moment. Hopefully a big experimental patch is a good sign.

So is this patch actually live on beta? According to MMO, it might never actually see the light of day and is all speculation.

Ah, found part of the problem. Pet talent trees have been redone. More on this later.

Edit: Nothing to major. Serpents Swiftness is now just a flat out 10% attack speed increase, and while it doesn't say that it reduces your pet's damage anymore, I'm not really certain of that. Wild Hunt Now increases pet damage by 60% while they are above 50 Focus, but increases focus cost by 50%.

100% armour while taming should make things easier in some situations

A chance at a Qiraji battle mount for outside use is also good news!
Here's hoping they add a "black" & "white" lion mount too...!:D

Oh great... Yet ANOTHER horse for the Alliance? I'm getting SICK of the repetition. >.< Is horse/wolf the only faction specific ground mount they could think of?

A Ram would be awesome for Alli. Just please no more of those stupid horses. ;___; I never liked them to begin with and we're drowning in them.

I like horses. Regular horses, that look like saddle horses. In other words the slow human mounts. The rest of them can take a flying leap, as far as I'm concerned. I actually like my dead horse better than I liked my live, walking tank, silly looking horse, since I faction changed. But, some variety would be nice. Like say, everyone gets a surfing croc.
