Thanks Idoru :)

Well I still haven't seen the white one, but I did find a rare lavender (ParrotSkinLavender) one!

It's not (currently?) classed a rare, but it's certainly not a common spawn. It was with the rest of the parrots in the end cavern and is called a Brilliant Macaw.

I guess I should repair my gear at some point. Looks like those level 15 mobs are hard on the old mail :P

Good finds! I've loved that white and purple-blue parrot skin since I got the minipet! Now, I might have to get that one, instead of the red...oh, decisions, decisions. *tears up taming list. again* :D

Wait... you have the Hyacinth McCaw mini pet????? I've been farming that for well over a year. From what I hear, it has a 1 in over 5,000 drop rate. I really want it to go with my Aotona, it'd be like walking around with her mini me. (It goes for about $25,000 gold on my server.) LOL Anyway, gratz on the Hyacinth.

Parrots should have their own family at this point, methinks.

Nay, she meant Miniwing. :)

<3 Miniwing!

So anyone seen the white rare one and have screenshots of it while it's still an NPC, or at least a full name for it? :) So far all we have is that it's "Albino <something>". I wonder if the brown one might spawn in there too.

Yippee! So many *lovelies* to choose from (credit goes to Zeilla for my new word reference)! They all look awesome and I am so happy to see that there will be plenty of skin colors to choose between, making the larger population of hunters playing WoW very happy!

I'm thinking of picking up a red and blue one for my troll huntress instead of a red and purple owl like I had originally planned. I am also very interested in the white and purple parrot (the one that looks like miniwing) but for which hunter, I am not sure of just yet.

I am starting to think this myself. ^

There are now more parrot skins avalible than 2/3's of the other pet families, not that I mind of course :D

OK, I got the white/yellow one now! The rare beastie has the charming name of "Albino Eyegouger"!

Also, for anyone who collects minipets, in the same run I confirmed that the Defias Pirates still drop the Green Wing Macaw.

Eeee! So happy with all of these parrots for some reason! I generally don't get excited about birds, but the parrots are so vividly colored, even the white/gray ones with their highlights.

I made up my mind; going with Ol' Beaky for Icarus. I really bonded with him right off, just off the screenshots. Very, very few pets have had that effect on me. I love so many of the bright parrot options, but I just don't think any of them really fits with Kalliope....maybe an alt someday!

I agree. I've already got my bird of prey picked out (I want the new golden eagle skin in cata) But I do like these parrots as well. But I wont tame two birds of prey because it just feels like a waste of stable space xP

Also, parrots are NOT birds of prey irl, so it makes no sense for them to be in the game >.>

But then people can't tame crabs and turtles to attack dragons (or, well, anything significant) in real life, either. :)

The problem is in the real world, "bird of prey" or raptor applies to a very specific subset of birds. But in the game, the term "bird of prey" has been appropriated to give a name to the family of ferocious attack birds that only have some overlap with the real-world group. And "raptor" was used to mean velociraptor, rather than eagles, hawks, etc. I think that the role that game parrots have been given, as aggressive dps, does fit with that family, regardless of the name.

Agreed, I really like that white parrot model, but I must say I also want a golden eagle. -shakefist at Blizzard-
