Blizzard, why must you take away everything I love?
Re: Worgen druids
I don't really see them fitting very well into the who druidic feel, and draenei or dwarves would probably have been closer. However, if Blizzard was keen to give us worgen druids, they could have easily just explained it that the Night Elves, feeling responsible for letting worgen into the dimension in the first place, and, consequently, Arugal's development of the worgen curse, sought to teach the people of Gilneas druidic magic in order to help them gain control over the unnatural forms forced upon them.

That would have been a far more acceptable explanation, but yeah, Worgen still shouldn't be druids.
I vote Draeni for druids!
All forms with tentacle chins

And the retcon is rediculous. The original story was infinitely better. The really should retcon the retcon
I have to agree. From what I've read, I do not care for the retcon. At all.

That sounds more plausible.

It would make sense if Druids could change into humanoid animal forms before, but as of now, for some reason the Wolf druids completely don't follow the same rules. It's just odd.

Wolf druids I could technically handle SINCE according to lore, Feral druids often sometimes "go wild" and tend to live/spend most of their time as beasts and not as humanoids.
But this was an insane mash-up since, as you said, they became Wolf-men.
Plus I mean.. wtf? When a druid cat bites me I don't go were-cat O_o where did this curse get its... contagiousness?
Man the original lore made so much more sense @_@

The old lore made the worgen unique in wolfman terms the new lore does not thats not a good thing.

I like it but then again, I like creative things and looove wolves/druids - I also accept the fact it isnt my game or my story and if they wanted to say that tauren could grow wings and fly there wouldnt be a thing I could say about it

well, yeah actually, the player have an enormous amount of power. we've seen it before when a huge percentage of players ramp up about something and as a result change occurs.

More often than not thats about a game mechanic not about a story or a piece of lore really.. I mean if a whole bunch of players raised kane and wanted Kael'thas back...AGAIN I dont think Blizzard would do it.. (Im only using him as an example, the guys been dead what..twice all ready?) /shrug

They can't change this though, they have the main starting zone quest for Worgen incorporating this story, and probably even more quests later on. Tying them into Night Elf magic is something that can't just be removed.

I'm not happy about it. The old models are what made people want to play the race. Give them better textures or something, don't replace them.

Changing the ones in Gilneas made sense, but replacing outside the walls doesn't. This seems like it should have either been retcon'd way earlier or just plain written differently.

Now I'm all confused. What is the New Lore compared the the Staff of Elune/Arugal curse story?

Its not as good i mean its something around the lines of the worgen were druids who whorshiped a wolf god and there wolf form took them over. or something around those lines its not as good IMO
