Your mileage may vary on "Last Exile". A friend of mine told me that, for a lot of people, it's contingent on whether you find the aerial sequences interesting. I personally didn't find most of the characters in the series very compelling, so it didn't really strike me as sad. There were also a couple wallbanger moments, and Lavi ends up criminally underutilized. =/

Well Berserk is a shitly MADE anime and imo is not worth watching your better off with the manga.
This is comeing from an animators point of view by the way before i went to animation school i proberly would of said it was well made but now that i know the tricks of the trade i can see all the short cuts tey have used and well you get what i emna right?

VelkynKarma yeah i know but have you read the manga? its still one of the best i have ever read. The deaths in them are well really well drawn.

I'd recommend AMV HELL too its pretty funny. the hentai ones i have found to be the most lol.

Well this is coming from a FAN point of view, and I say it's fine. What exactly is so bad about the animation, Cow? But you really probably should go with the manga. At the VERY LEAST, the anime will make you want to read the manga.

The animation is poorly done most of the time they just use still frames and shake the camera or add movement lines or slightly shake the model so it looks like they are "strugerling".Really its like a slideshow with a few animated scenes in it. I mean they must of used such a little amount of frames in most scenes that it really shows.

The huge thing that makes me go wtf is the reason the canned it is cos it COSTED to much to make and i wonder where that money went cos it was not for the animation.

Oh and anime mouths piss me off so much but i don't want to rant bout them.

I think we must be talking about a completely different anime then.

You can judge for yourself. But if we ARE talking about the same thing, then I am sorry but I don't see what you are talking about at all, and I completely disagree.

Berserk is a fantastic anime. Sure it's dated, but nothing regarding its animation ever detracted from my enjoyment of it.

Thats cos your just a fan and not a animator pally as i have said before i know the tricks of the trade and i can see what they jave skiped. It could of been a much better show. I can't watch a show nomatter how good it maybe with out looking at the animation its the curse of the animator. I mean i love G1 transformers but the shows bad lol and i atmit that.

For the record, I also have a degree in animation. I've never watched Berserker myself, but I did watch the AMV Palla linked. Like Veph said, the animation looks dated, but not LAZY, so I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about there. It's probably comparable to a lot of the old-school animations you find here too, like the hanna-barbera (sp?) stuff. Those cartoons aren't bad either, just older.

It's a little unfair to compare older cartoons/anime to the ones produced nowadays, when we have so much more technology to do it.

VelkynKarma i was not compareing it to any new shows i never said that. It is lazyly made. that amv had basicly most of the best bits in the show if you wanted to know.

I know its hentai and well lots of peeps find it yuck but from an animation stand point the first Bible black is really good and well done. I mean yes its porn for fapping and i don't really get cartoon porn but i found that to be a good anime XD.

If you're a fan of dogs and alright with a good amount violence/gore, this is a great one to watch.
