It's still better to release something that works 100% than something that only partly works. I wouldn't care if it takes longer to be released.

It worked pretty well in ptr, but I assume they're having issues transferring it to the live servers without people freaking the f^%& out.

My only huge glitch is that in zones with the new water textures of northrend, it causes my client to blink black and then boot me off WoW. I've had to ticket multiple times to have GM's remove the toons stuck in those "dead zones" to capital cities just so I could log them in. So frustrating. >.<

My main concern is how they might go about fixing this. On Beta a couple months ago, there were so many pet errors they had to wipe all pets (warlocks too), removing them all. I've heard locks are already having pet issues as well, so unless they finally find a fix for this bug, it feels like the writing is on the wall :/

That goes against Blizzard's every principle. They have a very long history of delaying releases and pushing back dates over and over again so that they can make the product right, rather than make it quick. Or at least those were Blizzard's principles before the company was bought by ActiVision and they promised us the merger wouldn't affect their policies and practices.

This patch = WAAAAAAAAAYYYY buggier than any previous one.

This is not production, they just switched production over to beta.

It feels like this time the devs said "ok, since the players gave us so much crap about the extended / unscheduled maintenance from previous content patches, this time ... let's give them what they want and see how they like it..." :twisted:

I guess we should be careful what we wish for... :shock:

BTW I finished checking all 8 of my hunters and all pets are accounted for - I did have a few cases of "disappearing pets" but shuffling icons around seemed to remedy the problem - from what I can see the stable has trouble with you dragging one icon on top of another - it should simply auto-swap them for you in that instance however instead doing so seems to sometimes cause one or both pets to become unusable, pending more shuffling. :)

Happyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

After server restarts last night (though Dethecus actually had Northrend crash for about an hour), my babies had returned! :D This smells of a hotfix.

I knew that Orpheus and Hector were in there someplace, so it was okay, really. I'm just glad the stupid pet bar issues haven't cropped up for me on live. That was unliveable. It bothered me deeply that my babies were missing, but considering that they would have been stabled anyway while I leveled my new babies, it was okay. Except for Wintergrasp, cause Orpheus was missing. -_- But at least I'd gotten Kalypso (my crab) to 80 before then, so I wasn't completely useless.

I'm glad to hear you have them back! :D

I think we did have a hotfix about the pets/stables, I had problems with my active slot 1, said I didn't have an active pet even though I saw 4 pets when I clicked it. The pet was never unavailable to me, I just couldn't summon it from slot 1. Anyway, it's fixed now. :)

I'm not expecting a patch to be released completely bugless. I never am. But this one is far more than that. So far, I've seen blinking water, skeletons jumping out of walls, one mob respawning the instant I killed it four times, and very badly designed new talenttrees. A bit much for one patch, don't ya think? And even then, I haven't even gotten started on various class-bugs.
I haven't had any issues. Well, that's not true. I thought that the water was bugged in Zangarmarsh, but it was the eels moving just below the surface.

I've been playing since Wrath release and this is the best Patch I've experienced in-game yet.

I was affected by this "petnapping" patch as well, lol. Both Arcturis and my Ghost Sabre were no where to be found. I immediately opened a ticket and went offline for a few hours. Upon my return, my ticket had been answered. Apparently, this is a known issue in WoW right now and they were able to restore my two beloved pets. I verified this by going to the nearest stable and seeing they were truly there. They were.
So now, all is right in my World.....of Warcraft, that is, lol.
Hopefully everyone that is affected by this issue will have their pets returned to them ASAP and with no further problems.

I had tamed Krush, Arcturis and Gondria the night of the patch, since I had 24 glorious stable slots, and got super lucky. I logged in last night to raid ICC, and saw that I was missing Arcturis, Gondria, and some of the other pets I'd tamed the previous night. I submitted a ticket, got on with raiding ICC, and actually got a relatively quick reply from a GM ( about an hour and a half). The GM first assured me that I still showed as having all my pets and said that they had squee'd when they saw I had all 4 spirit beasts ;) They let me know that Bliz is aware of the issue and working on it. They said that there's a hot fix planned likely for Tuesday, but it was possible that it might be deployed sooner. They also said since they do have a record of what I had, as well as the conversation, that if my pets didn't show up after a week, I could submit another ticket to have them restored.

Here's a hug ! I know first hand how painful it is to open that stable and see some of your friends missing.

So, for any of you who have had pets go missing, and haven't heard from a GM yet, Bliz is working on a fix. If it hasn't been deployed yet, it should be soon™.

I don't care about the bugs in 4.0. We live. It's not "game ending". They can release buggy patches for all I care. I am glad it's out. I would have hated for 4.0 to have been "delayed" to like next week or something.

Yeah I'm ok with it. The rolling restarts have fixed most of my issues and you know, I really don't mind that I have to go to the stable master and shuffle my pets a few times to get my first active slot to work and things like that. The only big issue I had was lag, and the restarts took care of that.

I'm very glad we got the patch now, I was going out of my mind in anticipation. ˆ—ˆ

We're having more rolling restarts right now, so it seems like more fixes are going in. :)
