Sorry in advance, Area 52'ers... Unless the Jadefang pet is BoE (please let it be!), I will be... euthanizing him =\ I LOVE my rare pets, but I love my rare vanity pets more.

Otherwise, wtb more grey trash on rares, please.

It's BoP last report. This means that people will at least only kill the poor sod *once* each, rather than repeat-camping him to sell the pet on,

That would only add more fuel to the fire. What most people don't keep in mind that despite there being a lot of hunters, rares are meant for us and us alone. We can't get angry when someone else finds a rare, fair and square, and kills it. Fine. You've been camping it for a while, but so what? They have just as much a right as anyone else to grab it.

If they stole from you while you were taming, fine. That's pretty evil and harsh. But a rare is a rare is a rare, and ANYONE is allowed at it. Do you leave some random rare out in the wild because you can't tame it? No, you end up killing it. Even if some achievement hunter has been looking for Old Crystalbark for example, for months, and you just killed him...Yeah. Look at how the tables turn.

So next time you argue because someone killed a rare you were camping, fair and square without griefing you, keep this in mind.

No, Ryan, I'm not targeting you or anyone here. I'm just saying this, because it's something I've noticed that irks me.
Now now now. What he is saying isn't such a bad Idea imho... The world could have their bloody rares all the frack they want, kill them, loot them, skin them, etc. But, how would it be wrong to implement other rares with none of these benefits, that are ONLY tameable? No one can do anything to them other than tame them. They have no special loot, no achievement, no ability to be killed. All they do is fight back while being tamed. This would NOT affect anyone who already hunts rares, and the only way we could be griefed is if other HUNTERS tame them just so we couldn't. How would that not be fair to everyone?

Because people are going to complain about how Blizz favors and caters to hunters? I don't know.

If someone is going to be so much of an egotistical cry-baby that they throw a fit about not being able to grief hunters, then i think blizz has bigger problems than hunters taming rares... Granted I know you're right, but I really don't see how anyone that can afford $15 a month can't afford decent manners...

Not every griefer pays for their own account, so....

I am sorry but I think this will only make things worse with some people. Anyone see that episode of South Park where Cartmen makes that kid eat his parents without realizing it and then cries in front of Radio Head? He crawls all over his face licking up the drops going "MMM, yes Scott, your tears are so delicious! They feed me, mhm, yesssss..." I picture griefers with bank slots full of Crystalline tears like a trophy case of stolen kids' bikes...

Pretty much what Darkcrow said. Even if the rares dropped NOTHING, there would be people killing hunter spawns just for the sake of doing it. At least this way, there's something in it for those who kill for the challenge.

I also pointed out that he doesn't have to pay other players in order to get his minions, so why should I pay for the "privilege" of taming a pet?

Why are you camping King Mosh? Doesn’t he have the exact same model as the other Red Devilsaurs?

Many of us like going after specific rare pets for the thrill of the hunt and knowing their true identity. :) It doesn't matter if there's a mob with the same appearance, King Mosh is special in his own right and it's fun to set goals like that. ;)

Crystallize Tear of Loyalty is very sad indeed. Makes me want to love all rare tameable pets that I see come Cataclysm. And I don't agree that a mere 25 gold "warrants" makes it "right" to kill rare pets.

I still say that if a pet is under the 'tame spell' then no one else should have the ability to touch it.

I'm just glad that others are sick of hunters acting like rares are just for hunters. I like to share and I have been noticeing a bad sterotype going around the servers I use that hunters are greedy people. :( I mean a few weeks back I was on my rogue and got mobbed by 3 mountain lions I did not know intill i had killed them all that one was a rare starting with A I can't remmber its name but after i was healing up this lvl 80 bloodelf hunter came up and started saying mean things like "YOU KILLED THAT RARE BEAST I WANTED! THAT WAS FOR HUNTERS YOU SUCK AND SHOULD GET BANNED FOR DOING SO!" O.o I mean I did not know he was looking for it and I had no time to ask in general I would of died!

While that was an overly harsh response on the part of the hunter, I can understand why they were so mad. Araga is the only version of that skin until Cataclysm. Sure, it was an accident. But that's a long-ass respawn timer. >_<

^ This. He had a right to be mad but you also didn't know. It happens. You would've been just as angry if someone killed a mob you were camping for days, whether they knew or not.

Like I said, that hunter lost their temper. While the specific response is over the top, the anger that CAUSED the hunter to lose his/her head was understandable.

A group of us lost our sanity in the Alterac Mountains last night camping the same cat....and we weren't camping alone. I can only imagine what the other hunter went through...

Well good thing in cata there will be more for every one! yay! I liek what blizz did with that cat left the rare for people who like camping rares (not me) and made one for people who like skins and not the mob its from (me).

But they put in more rare mobs and more unique skins too. So for every 'rare skin' they made common, they made a new rare skin that is one of a kind. the cycle isnt broken.
