I know its just speculation, but why does it need to be a blind? Most pet specials tend to fall into 1 of three categories Pvp, Buff/Debuff, or Defensive.
To me, a tenacity pet should never have a blind. They are made to absorb damage not CC, even if its a short PvP orientated CC. That ability is best suited for a Cunning pet.
My guess is that we have not seen all the pet families just quite yet. At least thats my hope. Those cute little armadillos would make awesome pets. Plus, we desperately need another Cata Exotic family. Something Spirit Beast-esque but different.
I really hope that the Shale Spider's special is something useful for its tanking. another Channeled AOE wouldnt be a bad thing either.

The problem with assumptions like this is that no tree is specific for anything anymore... cunning and Ferocity are competitive in a Raiding Scenario, Any tree can and is used in a PvP setting, and I see just as many people use Ferocity pets/Cunning pets to burn mobs down fast for their *Soloing* aspects in WoW as I see with Tenacity.

No, they shouldn't be close to the DpS that Ferocity pets are supposed to be able to do. Ferocity pets are meant for raids. "Ferocity-- 50% of master's Attack Power, 40% health, 50% armor, Tenacity-- 35% of master's Attack Power, 50% health, 70% armor, Cunning-- 40% of master's Attack Power, 40% health, 60% armor", that's Blizzard's goal. They just have been lazy getting to that.

That information is out-dated.
See GhostCrawler's post:

Edit: In fact, that was pointed out last time you referenced that post over
in this thread. Pet scaling is equal amongst all three pet types, and has been for over a month on beta.

Yeah, It's all in the talents, and both Cunning and Ferocity talents make for some good dps pets.

The main difference is the extra 9% crit chance Ferocity gets from Spider Bite (I think)

But with the changed Wild hunt, anything that helps maintain Focus is a major dps gain, so Owl's Focus is divine for pets. Also, in a raiding environment, Feeding Frenzy does wonders as a boss will often be under 35% for a fair share of time. And, Roar of Recovery, especially when paired with Fervor, makes for a lot of focus to be killed, obviously increasing dps.
I guess the main point is: Each tree does not fill a specific role best. It is largely up to personal taste, including talents, abilities, and families.*
*This is aside from Tanking Large elites/old world content solo, as, at least from evidence I've seen, Tenacity pets are by and far the best choice.

No, it was not. That's an old topic. I think this is the first time I've seen "Ghost Crawler" say that. Long day for me (today). That reply from him is way too recent.
Anyways hmmmmm I wonder why they changed that. He does
still say though that
they do want Ferocity to do more damage. It should be more than Cunning. It's a bug if Cunning pets are doing "more" damage than Ferocity pets. I'm gonna report that. My own personal "opinions" favor and value Ferocity pets.

They do want ferocity to do more damage than cunning, but apparently they want it to come through talents. My guess is that they don't want to penalize hunters who want to use cunning pets too much.

It's not a bug, it's not a glitch, it's nothing of that sort, and all the 'opinions' in the world won't make it that way. It's the way game mechanics make it work out, the Devs know about it, but obviously they seem pleased with it atm, so think of that what you will.
My suspicion is the distance between the two will occur when we can get Sic 'Em and the focus boosting affects of Owl's focus aren't nearly as large a factor as it is now. Also, ferocity pets do MORE damage, to begin with, but as you wind out in a lengthy boss fight , Feeding frenzy will bring cunning pets back up with the extra Dmg it does.
Again, my point is that Cunning pets are up to snuff in raiding dps. I like that, some of my favorite pets are Cunning, and I can finally use them. If you wish to whine about your favorite pet tree not being the absolute leet Sh** they used to be compared to cunning, feel free, I'm not your mom, but do take into consideration that other hunters are greatly enjoying this new found freedom.

Oi, whatever "Gimlion". Calling people "whiners" is an insult and not allowed here. Duh. Everyone's to be treated with respect. Duh. I didn't say anything about your... "opinions" with Cunning pets. I'm totally glad you are no "mom" either. I already knew that. Duh. Edit: Whatever to your... "talking".

Break it up, kids.
The point is that both trees can be specced for effective dps, and without the damage modifiers working behind the scenes to give ferocity pets an edge, cunning pets are right up there. Ferocity still has Call of the Wild, which makes a bigger difference for the hunter than Roar of Recovery, which isn't bad but still isn't as powerful. The other talents seem to even out in the long run. Ferocity does also have the side perk of your pet healing itself and keeping its happiness up too.
Oh, and as a side note.....Protego, the thread Anyia referenced has the same date on your post as Ghostcrawler's more recent post. Maybe you hadn't seen his post at the time, but the information was out there.
