Yeah. I just did him and my poor kitty kept dying. My friend, who was healing on her shaman, kept trying to save him, but he didn't last. =( I stopped rezing him.

Did see the pet drop, but my friend won it. He ended up eating the turtles in the Dalaran sewers. XD

Yep, three-manned with myself, a mage, and a priest healer. I hope Blizz fixes the AoE junk for pets; I ended up resing/dismissing Cerberus after the first attempt. The priest is really good and did try to save him, but there's just no healing through the AoE from the boss AND the junk on the ground.

No pet or mount, but we had the gas mask drop! :o It looks hilarious. xD

We ran it today before I went to work- as happened to the hunter's pet in the video posted on MMO Champ, my wolf keeled over in no time... thought about swapping to BM, but the pet in the video was Skoll, so no point swapping to have a big red dead pet. If we were able to buff our pets with the damage negating perfume/cologne neutralizer items, we would have seen better survival in our companions... but alas...
And my pet was being healed as well as the party, so the damage is just too much to counter, too quickly.
As for loot, we had the rose drop, and about one of each of the necklaces... I think that was it. No mount, no pet... yet :)

Ooh, what does the rose do? I can't find a proper description anywhere.

Haven't had chance to try it yet but I heard how "petfriendly" this boss is. Also it seems that this boss is making the local warlocks even angry because their pets can't take it either, it's a baibai for a imp in a cloud. But Saf I promise I'm healing you today so no worries deary, but don't get angry if Usva bites the dust.

Seen some of the healer boards saying that pets are hard to heal in the cloud damage and that it's useless to try save them (saying that they require same healing rotation as the tank and some do this encounter with two tanks), but I'll do a more accurate statement after I try it today.

Finally got an answer to the ticket I submitted yesterday.
Greetings Nanyana,

You are receiving this message in response to the help petition which you submitted regarding hunter pets having no immunity from the aoe damage done by the new bosses in Shadowfang Keep.

Thank you for reporting this to us. We are unaware of any problems associated with this, but the issua will be further investigated with the information you provided.

How can they be inaware of a bug like that?

It sounds a bit too much like an automated answer...

Not yet. My poor pet still died within 10 seconds of the fight. =/ I didn't bother rezzing him after the first time...

On the bright side. I made off with my last run of it. >_> The pet, the rose thing and two Abyss Crystals. Thank god I was with all guildmates. XD

My die's around the 2nd boss. There is just to much action going on and moving and I often forget to throw a heal to the pet.

I managed to keep my pet alive through a couple of our 5 tries today...but I don't know if it only worked because of which model he is.

As an experiment, I stood on the bottom level of the fountain in the courtyard, which meant that Cinders, my Vargul Blighthound, was up on the fountain with me as well. When we pulled, I hit him with a Mend Pet just in case and stayed on that fountain until I was forced to move by having a vial chucked at us by the third guy. From there, I had to run like crazy anytime I saw a colored spot anywhere near me. Sometimes Cinders would run through them, and he caught a couple of chain heals from our shammy healer, so we got lucky. If I could keep us both out of the puddles, he'd live, but it seemed like keeping him by me and being up on the fountain kept him safe for the first half of the encounter.

I don't know if it will work for a larger model of pet than the Blighthound, but that tactic does work for a pet of about that size, so it may be worth a try. I wasn't perfect - I did lose him on two of our attempts, but as I got more practice at running like heck, I got better at keeping Cinders out of stuff.

I lost any actual damage he'd have done because he couldn't go in and attack, but I did get to keep the bonus damage from having him out and alive and from having Furious Howl active and being able to Bestial Wrath.

Waa, I actualy wrote a really indept story and the stupid comp auto-logouted me. Sad panda!

Well I'll be speaking from the healers booth!
My Ui crazy at the moment, with trying Healbot and Perl on while on the encouter. Mind you Perl is crazy for someone in a small screen. I have the standard sized screen (19'), meaning I work on a very little background and I need every space to see that I can get, a healer has a pretty crazy screen outlook in general.

So, the encounter with the new bosses is actualy more hectic on the DPS and Tanks side because if not stationary have to move alot amongst the clouds. Ranged casters like healers, mages, priests can pretty much stand still, while watching below their feet and the adds. I didn't move much so I placed my trust in the guys to save me if the adds saw me as a interesting thing to attack.
But there is alot of movement, I saw how the tank guided the boss around switching to another cloud, which cause most of the damage. Sadly I was pretty much stuck in a grid outlook because of the addon mess I was mostly stationary so it is possible to survive with minimum movement.

I'll try today to throw a regrowth on the pet to see if the 20 second tick can keep it alive.

Although I'm pretty sure that when the HP starts to drop no HoT will save it, I'd be grateful for it hun. ^^ The best thing I can do now is to keep an eye on where my pet is standing and have Mend Pet always up. As it has already been said, best bet is to keep the pet next to me at all times.

Yesterday I was able to keep my pet alive through the whole encounter, only for him to be killed by a surprise cloud right after the last boss fell over. XD It's getting easier every time though, with me getting more used to the whole hecticness of the fight.

@Tahlian:
Hmm, I'll try standing in the fountain today, thanks for the tip.

Hey it's gathering knowledge, but I'd really wish for a bigger screen! (one more to the B-day list)

Tahlian's idea actualy sounds pretty true actualy, I stood next to the fountain and didn't get much damage.

I'm pretty sure something has been tweaked there. I was able to keep my pet alive 4/5 of the runs I just did, the death occuring when the battle was inches from being over. Seemed like my pet inherited my immunities as he didn't take any damage from the right colored clouds.

Although it might also be because I used my solo spec this time, instead of dps spec... I'll try with the other spec tomorrow.

What I did last night for my runs was keep Bramble on passive so he stayed next to me the whole time and was able to fire off his howl and such. He did die maybe once because I stood in a cloud that I was immune to, not realizing it still damages him -_-;;
If you are careful to dodge puddles your pet stands in while on passive, if they have a buff that benefits you they should still be able to fire it off. /shrugs

Still no loot for me! Hehe.

I also found I could climb right up to the top tier of the fountain, though Cinders wouldn't reliably follow me up that high. I didn't dare actually do the encounter from up there, because I was afraid I would evade-bug the boss and waste one of our attempts. So no research yet on what happens if you do climb up there. If I could have gotten Cinders up there, I'd probably have put him on "stay" and left him up there, safely out of the reach of any puddles.
