Also, Pterrordax complicated? Bah, they would just be an exotic Bat variant, stun and all. :P
I think only if you were desperate to shoehorn them into existing families. Bats are mammals. Pterrordaxes are reptilian. Flying is the only thing they have in common.
I'd rather they take their time and do them justice than force them into families just to get them done faster.
Iunno, but I took what he said as like
How Silithids are exotic spiders with a buff (but in a different family), but that's just my interpretation?

Clefthooves are just so adorable and furry and detailed. <3 (I've been spending a lot of time in Outland lately, specifically Nagrand while grinding up Osho'gun powders. I spent a lot of time around Clefthooves and became quite fond of them. ^^)
While clefthooves might be able be a member of the Rhino group, neither thunder lizards nor kodo would fit into that group as well since they are reptiles. Lore wise kodo are related to Thunder Lizards so both can be grouped as Kodo Beast.
Their exotic skills should be devour just like in wc3 and their family skill should be Kodo Drum; agi and str buff.

I had never realized Kodo are reptiles.

Yeah, I've always seen kodos more akin to a rhino, with leathery skin. Lorewise though they seem to be reptilian, but I don't think that will ever budge my impression of them as being more of a pachyderm.

Pretty much this ^
Having a thunder lizard pet would make me

, but not

Both Tortoise(well the not shell part, just look at their neck esp giant turtle's) and Komodo Dragon have leathery-like skin yet they are both reptile.
Imagine this Kodos are reptile that are the shaped of Lizard, with horns, and tortoise feet, and their skin are like the neck of a tortoise.
Besides, the name kodo itself identical to the word Komodo

Hee, yes I'm well aware of reptile skin types, I just always envisioned kodos as pachyderms, so that will probably stick in my head despite knowing that they're canonically reptiles.

Megacerops. So I don't blame ya.
This! Brontotheriums are what I was thinking of when I first saw them too. Coupled with the fact that one of the three wild types has an extensive mane of hair I always expected they were mammals.
Apparently there were "kodo egg"s in the game, which would suggest the intent is that they're a reptile. But that could just make them monotremes
EDIT: I'd be interested to know any actual canonical sources of what kodos are. Is there anything in the game at all that states they're reptiles? Wowpedia and Wowwiki have a bunch of statements without attributing any source, except for some references to the RPG which is most definitely non-canonical.

So if they Do become tameable, which one would everyone tame?
Doing
my usual digging across Kalimdor, I ran across the
Elder Thunder Lizard, which is probably what I'd choose.

For Clefthooves, I think I'd try either the red, white, or dark brown.
Thunder Lizards would most likely be the dark blue.
Then for Kodos, I like the furry brown one, or ideally the armored black.

Ooo, we're picking kodos, too? I'd prefer a kodo to a thunder lizard, and I'd like a furry brown one as well!

That's a hard choice! I like both and it would depend on the character. I love rhinos, so I can see a kodo being a sweet pet. I'd love, love, love some dino pets! Stegos and Pterrodax to go with the raptors.
