I have to say, whilst it was challenging I managed to get all the way through to tame both Kri and Huhuran on my hunter (average gear is around ilvl251) Once you get past the first boss (more on this in a second) it's comparatively easy.
For Skeram:
I have to admit I did use my ghost Jormunger for glitch, but I can see it being doable with a SB specced for survivability using the heal whenever possible and cower each time it's ready. The trick is to make sure you're far away enough, I did have a hell of a time getting him until I read the post (I think from Wain) about the range as I kept getting MCd even when I was feigned.
Set your pet as focus, send him in and proc EVERYTHING you can (this means you take around 20% health off straight off the bat, can normally do so before the first MC attempt it also means that should things go TU and you get MCd it wont mean you start proccing your BW and destroying your pet as fast, which is always a plus)
So yeah, get him to around 80%, move as far as possible whilst still being in range for KC and then feign. Pet should have no problem murdering the split adds. Once they're down depending on if you're feeling lucky I recommend jumping out of feign and again wailing on him for a few seconds, then feigning again asap before the second split.
Then rinse + repeat til he drops.
Personally I managed to cock up the final 25% and get MCd throughout it, but as I'd got all my main spells on CD I managed to not kill my pet so it worked out OK.
After that I moved to the bug family. I personally was going for Kri.
Wait til Vem paths to the left, get in range, start the tame, and you can usually get the tame complete before the first fear with a bit of luck, then run away, dismiss the pet and FD again.
(Side-note, once you FD the whole lot re-appear, so if you want one of the others as well do the same with each.
Then it's just a matter of getting to Princess!
You can mount up and head past the trash with little hassle as long as you make sure you FD in a timely fashion (I would HIGHLY recommend dismissing your pet, I learnt the hard way that if you get into combat with the pet out ((especially near Satura)) that they WILL come for you FD or not if your pet's up as they don't reset properly, I know it's a fairly obvious thing to do, but I got caught out a couple of times with this.)
Again for Fangkriss you just need to be quick to run through and FD on the other side, the final trash before Huhuran is again a cake-walk in comparison and she's such an easy tame she might as well be a mob in a start zone.
I left with Huhuran, Kri AND through sheer luck the RED mount! (I've been there loads, had the other three for an age but never been lucky with the red one so I was sincerely chuffed.)
It's a great fun, challenging taming mission and I highly recommend it to all who're debating it.
Final recommendations:
1) Jormunger or SB as the pet to take.
2) Fish-feasts/flasks etc are not vital (I didn't use them, or rather I had one feast and wasted it on a failed Skeram attempt) but would be handy.
3) If you're not in a rush, try killing some of the trash, the mounts are cool especially if you're lucky enough to get the red one, which does infact look the mutt's nuts!
4) good luck and stick with it, the rewards far outweigh the repair bills.
I'll lob some screenys up when I get home if people are curious but at work currently
GL all!

P.S... now I just need Chromie, so if anyone on Draenor EU is up for a run I've got a couple of healer 80s to alternate around with it it's helpful
