people who Report for Pet names are sad little people
A fun place to chat about hunter pets in the World of Warcraft.

Hardly. I don't want to see a pet named P**is (Uncensor that in your mind) or TurboNegro or things like that. Or any variation of a racist term. I'll ignore most things, even if they make me cringe, but outright bad is bad.Dr. Rockso wrote:people who Report for Pet names are sad little people
I agree, I always use á é í ó ú if there's a restricted name that I really like -- Players can't really complain, provided that it's not insulting and that the first 3-4 characters used are regular letters (like if something is named "ángrycat" then you can't /target it without knowing the á keystroke, whereas if it was named "angrýcat" then players can get away with typing "/tar angr".)Dr. Rockso wrote:There is a simple way past it just use a different character to replace a Letter
for example the name Diablo could be spelled using a different o like Diablø
or the name Skywalker could be spelled using a different e like Skywalkér
There are so Manny ways around name restrictions
Then Just ignore it i dont see how you can get so wound up you feel that you need to report them over a pets nameNovikova wrote:Hardly. We don't ignore it cause names like that are against ToS, whether you care about it or not.Dr. Rockso wrote:Then Just ignore it i dont see how you can get so wound up you feel that you need to report them over a pets nameNovikova wrote:Hardly. Hm.. let me quote the types of names deemed inappropriate by Blizzard themselves. These go against the ToU, and thus, ARE REPORTABLE.Dr. Rockso wrote:Then Just ignore it i dont see how you can get so wound up you feel that you need to report them over a pets nameNovikova wrote:Hardly. Once again, not only are most of these things offensive and at the very least tasteless, it IS reportable.Highly Inappropriate
Racial/Ethnic/National
Extreme Sexuality/Violence
Sexual Orientation
Obscene/Vulgar
Moderately Inappropriate
Harassing or Defamatory
Blizzard Employees
Inappropriate
Advertising
Restricted
Trademarks
Pure Gibberish
Contain "Leet" or "Dudespeak"
Titles (Does not apply to Guild, Arena Team or Pet Names)
Real World References
Partial or Complete Sentences (Does not apply to Guild or Arena Team Names)
Actually, it's blizzard that asks the players to help them keep an eye out for those things. Thats why we have the 'report' button just like on a forums. Mods/GMs cant see everything.Dr. Rockso wrote:Let Blizzard worry about it they will catch them no one likes a Tattle Tale
I'll go check real fast.Necras wrote:Name list should be updated to this point!
Can someone confirm the Lion-King names? In vanilla I had a friend who had Mufasa. (Or a similar name.) For his cat pet.
That's odd...I had a friend with a Devilsaur named Duchess...of course, that was in the earlier WotLK days...it might've been added later...Kryte wrote:"Duchess" is reserved.
Which is a real shame, because although I understand that Blizzard wants to prevent us from giving ourselves titles through our pets, things like "Duke" and "Duchess" actually are commonly used pet names.
I have so many pets named of TFs, I'm not sure what could be taken...Rodimus, Jazz, Ravager, Barricade, Springer, Bluestreak, Blackout, Shrapnel, Rumble, Mirage, Ironhide, Nitro, Fireflight, Blurr, Airazor, Skywarp, Chromia, Excellion, Ruination, Drift, Safeguard, Skorponok, Gears, Magnus, Rewind, Steeljaw, Rosanna, Blaster, Soundwave...that's all the names I've used, and still currently use, for pets...it's really hard to block most TF names cause of how most TF names work...Taluwen wrote:
Dont think I forgot anymore. I can do a list of Transformers too if you'd like. XD
They may only reserve the REALLY well known ones like Optimus and Megatron.MaximumOverdrive wrote:That's odd...I had a friend with a Devilsaur named Duchess...of course, that was in the earlier WotLK days...it might've been added later...Kryte wrote:"Duchess" is reserved.

But under that logic, I don't get why some names are blocked...like Duke...I wanted to name a pet Duke! After Duke Fire from J-Decker!
O, I forgot! I know of another reserved TF name I tried one time...Primus is taken too! EDIT - Oops, I see it's on the list already lol
