I used an elven name generator (from D&D, I believe) for Rhyela and pieced it together from things that I like IRL. If I remember right (it is almost 4:00 a.m. right now), "rhy-" means "jade" and "-ela" means "hawk". Jade is my favorite stone and hawks are my favorite bird. Rhyela has green hair to go with the jade theme; hawks have incredible eyesight and hunters have aspect of the hawk. It just worked out very well. :D

My druid Edaia was created on my own, and is a cross between Eden and Gaia. I thought of those two because both are associated with a natural paradise, mother earth, foresty planty goodness, etc., and I knew I wanted to be a resto druid in the future. So, Edaia is actually pronounced "ee-die-uh", but people tend to say it either "ed-eye-uh" or "ee-day-uh". Blirgh.

For the rest of my characters' names, I take a basic theme of some sort and work with it for the most part. My brother has a mage named Celeste and I really liked how it sounded, so I named my mage Luneste and will make her a night elf (night elves worship Elune, "luna" means moon, and the -este just sounds pretty to me). Or I take an adjective that describes my character and translate it to a different language using an online translator. I have a priest named Lysende which if memory serves, is the Norwegian translation for "luminous". Priest = light = luminous (mine anyway, she's not a shadow priest). Very rarely is a name I come up with completely random. The one I can think of off the top of my head is my draenei paladin, Trystaan. I do know they seem to like using multiple vowels, so I threw in an extra "a" into "Trystan". :) But the name itself has no real source or theme, I just like the name Trystan.

Nitro Convoy thank you very much! Tho I've come to terms with it, and just say that Nitro and Override are twin brother and sister >.>

I loved Vector Prime...kinda sad what happened...I liked Roots/Safeguard as well...and of course...Signal Lancer! Also Sonic Bomber...I don't remember his english name...I loved the GaoGaiGar references in the show.
I knoooow....and the most epic moment was when Vector punched Optimus right in the jaw when he started being whiny. I remember jumping out of my chair going "YES! THANK YOU!"
I think one of my fav moments (in GF) was in the later part of the series on Giganolia, when Lori started chewing out Flame Convoy's butt (which was scaring the crap out of Nitro and Sonic Bomber), then Chromia started gettin into a fight with Lori (girl fight!), which then leads to Chromia taking off, Lori gettin pissed off and tryin to get Sonic Bomber to help her...which she then scares the crap out of him...I died during that scene...Here's a gif that goes with that...
OMG! I remember that!!! I fell out of my chair cracking up at that! XD Lori always kicked ass and I loved how she scared the piss out of Scourge half the time.

I was playing with the random name generator when I first started on my bf's account, when "Cerra" came up. It reminded me of Cera, the tough little female triceratops from the original "The Land Before Time" -- one of my favourite movies growing up. I thought, with what little I knew of Orcs at the time, naming a female Orc after her would be a perfect fit.

"Cera" was taken, so I added the "h" on the end. I also like how the name's spelled in an unusual name, but when you pronounce it, it's quite a common name -- it's a neat little bit of wordplay. I did something similar with some of my other toons -- Bessey (Bessie) the Tauren Druid, Emielee (Emily) the Forsaken Warlock, Taysha (originally Tasha), the Troll Mage and Lydeea (Lydia) the Forsaken Hunter.

So I guess for me it's a little bit luck with the RNG, mixed with my English-nerdiness. ;)

My main's name, Xarthat, originated well before I got into WoW (I think even before WoW was published, if I recall correctly. I was about 13, so I just kinda mashed together a few random letters... and voila. Being Xarthat stuck with me, and then I used it on WoW.

Almost all of my toon names comes from objects in my immediate vicinity during character creation. A lot of them are food names. Ketchup, Pesto, Souffle, Pies.
RestoDruid is my Troll tank warrior. Because I hate seeing people with name that are class-spec based. Like "Holypally" or "BobsFireMage".

Sochi wasn't new when I chose the name. The name I had wanted for my newest toon and first one in WoW was taken. Sochi was the name of a mithran theif from Final Fantasy 11, barely leveled, but I liked her all the same. So I typed it in, it was available, so Sochi I became. I learned later-much later-that there is a Russian seacoast town sharing that name. And apparently a Winter Olympics will be held there. Yay for Sochi!

When the Petopian guild was fromed and I wanted to test the waters, I rolled another toon. My main alt, Shaon. I was looking for an easy to type name, easy to recall. Elfish enough for a blood elf, but nothing to twist the tongue. I was looking at Thallassian words and spotted this one. I know it can be random and not always mean the same thing twice but shaon translated into thorn. Ah, I recall thinking, my new hunter will be a thorn in the sides of her foes. And so it was.

I have taken names from books, from other languages and from the random generator, usually with a tweak or two. My nelf, she takes her name from a book, Liende, though which escapes me. My goblin, on the other hand, her name is an echo of other goblins I have seen, Copperpin (she just might have a sister working on a Zepplin)

And Sonic Bomber (I think it's Wing Saber) was just twitching under her glare lol. I felt sorry for Flame Convoy a lot, heh. But he did have a lot of respect for her. And Nitro made me chuckle when he was with Lori cause he was kinda flirtin with her a bit.

Yeah. I remember all that.

Ah, he did. XD I really wish they'd go further with the Cybertron series.

Wassa is just one of the random words that comes up when you speak in troll. Not very creative, I know, but I wanted a trollish sounding name.
