The ghostly moonstalker is a real npc--as part of a phased Alliance quest. Which means, nobody can tame her: friendly to Alliance--and WOULD BE tameable by Horde except we won't be able to phase with an Alliance player to tame her while she is up. Makes me gnash me teeth in frustration. Snarky, Blizz, snarky. Just kidding, I love you Blizz for some of the hunter changes. I love trying to find these weird, off-kilter tames. Keep your eyes open all!

would a an ally within the phase race changed into a horde would be able to tame it?

Still though, Blizzard should make a minor glyph that makes all pets summoned out slightly transparent (if not already).
