Great guide. As you mention, the next step up is the frost gear set, but that is quite a grind indeed.

Two additions I would make, for those with the resources. For the stat-stick, the weapon from the battered hilt quest is very nice. For a ranged weapon, Rowan's Rifle of Silver Bullets beats any of the 232 weapons, even if it is a tanking weapon. And I've seen Rowan's as cheap as 1,500G. (Rowan's is only for BM, MM and SV stick with the other weapons)

Should also add that if you have the gold, there's a BOE lvl 264 chest and Wodin's neckpiece which also are very good. If you have the gold for them.

Otherwise, follow the guide on the first page to get you started!! Kalliope has done an awesome job! :D

They are all good options (with the exception of Rowan's, which I wouldn't really want to see a hunter with, even if the item level is higher and it's a dps increase on raw damage alone, simply because the stats would make said hunter look like a noob), but I figured that the casual hunter isn't going to have massive amounts of gold to drop on items that high up the food chain. I did make an exception for the greatness trinket, though, so I'll look into adding the properly itemized ones.

Thank you again to everyone who's contributed to this list; it just reinforces how friendly and helpful this community is when it comes to fellow hunters.

Guess I'm a noob then. Perhaps I should delete my account here.

Even though the spreadsheet tells me that for BM with 2-pc T10, that Rowan's is slightly ahead of the 264 Zod's bow, and my own testing confirms it. Mind you, it is only for BM. But it surely beats 232 lvl weapons.

But, I've been called a noob a lot lately, so.. whatever. out.

This guide is here for hunters who might not otherwise know where to get gear. My goal was to have casual hunters avoid being called noobs. If you want to min-max using a tanking gun, then it's your business if you want to explain your reasoning to the random pug in LFG who insults you for using it.

I am not calling you a noob for using that gun. To be quite honest, I hadn't even looked at it. But having it thrown in as a possibility, I still wouldn't recommend it to a casual hunter who is unlikely to want to put up with people who don't understand the reasoning.

So...yeah. Do as you like, but for what it's worth, I wasn't insulting you. -_-

Just a warning on the ICC 5 man heroics: You are going to end up failing. Likely this won't be your fault, it's just that the ICC 5 man heroic's are harder then your standard heroic, and a lot of people playing are what I call 'floaters', or people who rely entirely on their guild or friends to carry them along. In some cases, probably many, you'll manage to beat bosses or bad pulls through brunt of gear alone. This is all part and parcel. Pick yourself up after a bad group disbands, and keep moving on.

And Slick? She wasn't calling you a noob. She was saying that she was trying to help the newer hunter's avoid that moniker, and to avoid being called huntards.
