50159 it's his ID number
You know that's such a great idea...I might just have to level a goblin hunter now. That is brilliant, and it leaves it open for so much fun, and maybe I don't HAVE to camp every single rare again (since Ichy is the trophy hunter) maybe I can find that one special pet and level with it (like Humar was for me back in Vanilla, heck maybe it WILL be Humar). Love the colour theme too!Kormai wrote:Well at least for me (I don't know about others because besides people on this forum I've never met another person who has two hunters) I like having the two because I can tame different pets on each. I've had fun now that almost all the pet families have different buffs/debuffs because I try to make sure I have all the major ones covered. And in the instance where two pet families have the same buff, there is a good chance I'll want a model of each, so one hunter gets one family and the other gets the other family. For example: Kormai has a dragonhawk and Kari has a wind serpent.
Also because I have a bit of OCD, as much as I can I try to make sure all the models Kormai has are red/orange because she is Horde and Kari's pets are all blue/green/blue-ish purple for the Alliance. Thats why Kari doesn't get Terrorpene and Kormai doesn't get Jadefang hahaha. So I think the only pets that Kormai and Kari will have in common are my most favourite Spirit Beasts...they tend to be an exception to my self-imposed rules. And so far the only spirit beasts I love enough to tame on both are Skoll and Loque'nahak. I love Ghostcrawler and Karoma but not enough that I want to tame them twice...besides I need to leave room in Kari's stable for more potential spirit beasts.
I saw you received help with your NPCID question, don't forget to leave the World section blank or NPCscan won't fire for you when it sees him.Fen wrote:Did you have to put sambas id number in npcscan??? if so do you have it? cant find his id number(not sure if i need it???)

Congrats on your tame!Zaren wrote:Tamed Sambas today on The Maelstrom at 20.44, he was near the twilight campsHad been talking to a tauren hunter who was looking for him too, and he said that one in his guild had tamed him at 5ish in the morning, so seems that Sambas doesnt have 24h spawntime like Ive seen some say? Used NPCScan, and added Sambas ID (50159) + his name, and the scan went off when i got near him
Had been searching since i dinged the night before, patrolling on and off the whole day. Veeery happy now
GL all hunters who are looking for this king of lions:)
Haha wow I would totally fall off my mount if a mob spawned right under me, bad enough when I'm moving but I tend to hover pretty far up there! Thank you so much, I'm so glad it's finally over!Varethyn wrote:Haha awesome. That's pretty much what I followed when I found Ghostcrawler, and when Karoma spawned directly below me at exactly 5 minutes before my router is turned off. The paaaaaiin~ And I forgot to Fraps the moment. Again.
Glad you finally got him, you deserve it
(Seriously, how'd I forget to play my spec when I've never been anything other than Beast Mastery. Hm....)
Thank you!Cathyliz7 wrote:Grats!!
xD I was laughing so hard too once it was finally over, I was having a panic attack during that time lol. You are quite welcome!Button wrote:I was laughing so hard I turned bright red and couldn't hold back the tears. Thank you for that "how to tame" story. LOL!
Thank you so much!Striv wrote:Grats on your tame
Hehe! I'm glad you like the idea. Originally I didn't do it for the pet slots. In the summer Horde raiding on my server was very slow and I'd just finally got to playing an alliance shaman in a nice guild (I'd tried playing ally before that and only met jerks). Then I realized there were more alliance on my realm (Drenden) and more raiding opportunities. So to level as quickly as possible to raid why not level what I knew and loved; a hunter! Once she was 80 it wasn't too long after that I realized: "hey, I have TWO stables now!" which was at the time only a total of 10 pets but in a month or two I had 48 slots and so had to come up with some guide lines so I didnt get lost in pets! Let me know what you end up doing. Personally I wouldn't want hunter #2 to be the same faction and server but that's personal preference.Icharia wrote:You know that's such a great idea...I might just have to level a goblin hunter now. I've re-rolled twice on other servers, both time they were a hunter. I still have a little dren baby hunter on...Shu'halo I think it is, and Icharia is actually a baby hunter from Auchindoun that has been two servers, two factions, and four races. I honestly might NEED to re-roll on another server because Bloodhoof is full up unless they magically give us new character slots or another race. I just wish they would let you send your BoA's cross-server :p didn't acquire nearly every one in the game for nothing.Kormai wrote: Hehe! I'm glad you like the idea. Haha oh man I know how that is. My man was actually JUST getting ready to go to sleep and our buddies were getting ready to log when NPC scan went off. So I had to scream extra special loud IRL and through text because they HAD to know before they all left. Tames like that are CRAZY, I can't believe I lived xD but I'm so glad I did. I'm so glad you found Gondria as well, it's always crazy hard the first time when you've spent hours, but I promise it doesn't get any better later.Koriani wrote:*laughs*
Yes, I too have had times when I have used your strategy - most recently was when I was camping for Gondria.
I'd been flying around camping the spawn areas for prolly a week or so when she popped up right in front of me while I was sitting and waiting (in a spawn point between flybys..). Since this would be the first pet I ever really camped for (never went after cats before, until one was purple!) it was a huge event!
I was so shocked she was in front of me I completely freaked, realized that I had the wrong action bars up and I couldn't remember where my tame beast was. I aggroed her before I even thought about it, to keep her around me. Then in my panic I dropped frost trap immediately, which was too early - as I was still trying to figure out where tame beast was!
Which when the trap wore off I couldn't put another down, and of course by then I had found tame beast. So I was taming and she was hitting me and my heart was racing wondering if I was going to die, or if someone else was going to come and tame her in that moment, or worse come and shoot her in front of me! AH!
But I got her, and it was about 2 am and noone in my guild or friend's list was around and my husband was asleep. Though I almost woke him up I was so excited!
(amazingly this seems to be my luck, when I finally got my violet protodrake it was the same situation - noone was around and everyone was asleep! DOH! Screaming in general chat about my excitement just isn't the same...)
And congratz! I too will be going after this lion eventually...
I'm glad I don't have a devilsaur love like I do for cats :p I'm not sure any one would have put up with me for a long Krush camp and then needing to be helped through it. Plus the way I derp out I would have most likely ran away from my healer and gotten feared into some crocodiles. I'm definitely glad you, and everyone else, who wanted him were able to get himmnenioc wrote:OMFG! tyvm for a great laugh!
Yeah when I finally tamed Krush, I made similar mistakes but thanks to a very nice priest, I got him even with the mix ups, e.g. was in MM mode, lost 3 pets (all rare in the attempt to tame him), but finally got him and got my pets back LoL
Congratz!
OH NO oh man that would be horrible! I can't even imagine if I accidentally killed a rare instead of taming it, and it's so easy to do because...even though you're right there doing it all...you never really "see" anything that's going on. You don't notice your health or the mobs health until the tame is starting and you can finally sit and just wait to see if it works out. Did you eventually get Nuramoc? I've been considering going out hunting for him.Fido wrote:Great story! I'm sure you know how lucky you are that someone didn't come along and ruin it for you! Every time I'm looking for Simbas there are at least 2 other hunters also circling the zone, even at odd hours.
This story reminds me of the time I went out to get Nuramoc after trying for the Time Lost Proto Drake for a while earlier that day. I finally saw him, landed and killed him with my pet before I remembered that I was there to tame him instead.
