Which reminds me, side charries that will come in when needed >.> all except the raichu maybe

Raichu: was once traveling with a bunch of fereal still mad dusk in the dark wars, his group manged to come across on zincano and her friends some day and manged to wound all the them with the exception of zincano which they murdered in cold blood, the group soon fell as pinsit and aeris came to take zincanos revenge. The raichu was saved only because of aeris attract he stopped fighting and soon became a member of the family with a pincir/dratini hybrid as a little brother. He tends to be quiet only talking to his family when needed, and doesn't like to fight as much as he used to

Canzino: a mysterious sentret that seemed to have to patriapation in either side of the three wars but wandered the landscape watching fights and healing the pokemon after they did fight, she has a macho brace on her tail and a bag full of goods used to heal. she travels with a zangoose, haunter, chikorita, houndour and burmy

Britelle: the mysterious zangoose that travels with canzino, she speaks in an accent starting with z's

Senro: the haunter traveling with canzino, he has a habit of trying to inspire people with poetry

Ripeleaf: the chikorita traveling with canzino, she has a utility of uses including writing the human language, knitting and decipering anceint texts

yllas: a houndour that hates sweaing and never does it herself, she's rather kind and hates battleing

paluu: a burmy thats lazy and hates doing 'cowardly deeds' and such

((Obivous referances in there if you can find them

Edited mine!
Do we have anyone leading the Blood Games? If not, I'll do my best to lead on my human character. :-) But I don't want to take the chance from anyone else. I'm also happy to co-lead, if someone wants to do that.

Hmm...I could give co-leading a shot if you'd like Lupis! Never done it before, so why not?

Sounds good to me. :-) I figure the Blood Games are a big enough thing that there would be more than one leader. :->

Questions, right? So,
Why does this have such a horrible premise? One of the most endearing things about Pokemon, at least for me, is how innocent it is in the sea of blood, gore and sex madness in the modern media, yet still able to entertain me. I just... have no idea why one would want to give such a bloody premise to this particular franchise. Can someone explain?

This is kinda a fantasy version of pokemon no it doesn't fit everything the original does but we all added our own tastes to it, it still is pokemon but with a bit of a gorey twist and some people do actually like it that way, sometimes rps can be better with a bit of drama, for this rp its the horrible setting which creates the drama

@Andine - the last two had similarly grim themes. I suppose it's just that the world itself is interesting, and -because- nothing really wrong ever happens in that franchise, we want to explore what would happen and how people would react if something just terrible happened. For instance, nothing as terrible as the Dusk wars would happen in the show, but that leaves us hanging - what would happen?
Of course, there are other opinions. Personally I don't like everything being happy and innocent - I love fantasy, but realistic fantasy.

OK, I'm all about realism, but why, of all things, in Pokemon? It's supposed to be kiddy, and IMHO some things are better that way.

Just my thoughts on it here, but it's Because it's so Kiddy. I grew up with pokemon, playing and watching. I wanted to see it start to grow up With me, but nothing like that ever happened, so I moved on. With these rp's I can see what would happen if my favorite show/games I had as a kid did grow along with me. And it's Awesome!

sometimes it's okay in fantasys to tweak something to your preferance, this rp is really a fantasy version of pokemon it doesn't have to be innocent

I was never big on Pokemon to tell the truth. All I liked about it were the creatures. But the fact that they were so kiddy put me off, so this is the best of both worlds - the creatures I like and the intended age group I fall in to.
Luckily, our RPs aren't changing ACTUAL Pokemon. :-> That would probably be bad.

*Thinks it's a bad idea to try and join in this convesation when she's just woken up but will do so anyway* Because.. We like it? It's something we're passionate about, so who the heck cares if we're being creative and putting a spin on things? Besides.. Pokemon isn't as 'kiddy' as some might think. Take some Ghost Types for example.. It even STATES in Haunter's PokeDex entry that if licked by its tongue, its prey will start shaking constantly until death finally comes. Not as kiddy as you'd think, eh? That and some other fairly.. Creepy Pokemon, such a Banette and.. Shedinja... And... GOREBYSS! Freakin' Gorebyss. There's a reason its name is a combonation of 'gore' and 'abyss', you know! Its PokeDex states 'When it spots prey, this Pokemon inserts its thin mouth into the prey's body and drains the prey of its fluids.' ..... Yeah.

Besides, who cares if our characters are creatures from a kid's game? Our characters are amazing! And to be honest, we couldn't care less if it's kiddy or anything, we love our characters and our stories! :D

Just to add another bit, take a look at pokemon in Japanese. Mostly the show. That is Not a kids show...so..really...we're sort of being truthful to the original show, heh.

Exactly! Not to mention the manga. The manga is MUCH less kiddy. Which makes it pretty darn epic XD

I've been wondering the very same as Andine with this subject, and I can not quite agree with that. The whole franchise is directed at kids. About the pokedex entries though, if you want to compare it to something else "kiddy", think about the Grimm's stories. I'm sure every kid in the world has been read those stories at some point in their lives, and the uncensored versions, THOSE were proper creepy.

Mmhm. Ironically, both of those things happened in the same place; the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town. And luckily, nothing really bad happened to that Arbok, since it apparently healed XD

... That zombie Psyduck was pretty creepy, by the way. *Shudders, then flees*

OH YEAH, speaking of the Pokemon Tower... In the games (Yes, even the English version. Heck, it made me freakin' sad when I played through FireRed the first time.. D:), a little baby Cubone ended up getting orphaned. Why? Because of Team Rocket. The Cubone's mother, a Marowak, was KILLED by Team Rocket while trying to protect her baby. Okay, it doesn't say she was killed, but it does say she died fighting off Team Rocket. Not exactly 'kiddy', now is it?

Okay, it may be directed for kids but... ... Oh to heck with this. I don't CARE if it's a kid's game, and I don't care if we're making it too 'grim' or anything. It's OUR story. It has no impact WHATSOEVER on official stuff. And honestly, I think you and Andine really have no right to come in and say we're making it too.. Whatever! It has no impact on you guys, so why make such a fuss over it?!

Never read Grimm's stories. >.< I'm just creepy all on my own.
Again, it's all a matter of interest. Personally I enjoy the plots and the interaction between the characters. *What* the characters are doesn't matter as much. However, using Pokemon gives us a solid base; it spares us from trying to decide as a group on a race and a land, where things might get very out of hand. So we aren't using the story of Pokemon that much - jut the rough location and the species. An AU.
And I assume that this group, as with myself, would get very, very tired of a lighthearted RP very fast. It's fun until you say all there is to say - we need a conflict to push us forward, and for me at least, a conflict has to be grim.
Basically, just a for-fun thing we're doing. I seriously hope our story isn't impacting how anyone sees the Pokemon franchise - that certainly isn't why we're writing it. If you've ever written a silly or serious Fanfic where it doesn't directly follow the mood of the original, that's basically what this is. It's not the same thing at all - and the mood is obviously different.
