Its always sad to see a pet go, i used be a chronic pet shuffler and i had one slot that never stayed the same, im hoping to stay with the one ive got there now (old cliff jumper) I love all my pets so i have a system with them, they takes turns with me, deathwarp one day then bizkit then billiejoe then synyster then dakota and so on and so forth lol

My main hunter was never good about keeping any one pet. Her stable slots were always full and she would release many to have a new one in the stable to play with. She's now swapped over to BM so that she can get exotics... So all but one have changed out and now she has a whole new stable to level and play with.

My alt character also has a stable of 5, but she has some favorites that for now she can't give up.

I leveled from 10-80 with only one pet, an owl from darnusses. Then at 80 I wanted something to have for looks. Ever since that 2nd tame, i've felt guilty about stabling Archimedes.

@FuzzyDoll – wow that’s commitment! I don’t think I’ve ever had a pet for more than 20 or 30 lvls. Especially on my main, he’s a pet collector extraordinaire! I once went on a pet collecting spree, getting one pet from every family just to take a screenshot! The only two families I haven’t gotten a screenie of are the Devilsaurs and the Spirit Beasts.

But I always have my favorites, those pets that I wouldn’t part with, even if tempted with some extraordinary beastie. These are the pets which compliment my character completely and hold such a special spot in their pixelated little hearts.

I felt the same way when i started, and even now. I feel that i used 1 pet not enough, and it was not gitting enough attenton. but then i saw they each helped me in a diffrent way. so, ya. dont know if that helped or not.

On my old retired hunter, I kept my orange cat for as long as at least ten levels until I picked up my second pet. When I had three pets in the end, I switched them around efficiently so that they all had a fair amount of time with me outside the stables, and for that, I didn't feel too bad about leaving them in their stables for too long to miss them.

There actually is on my server! level 80 with one pet named "Cat" (the default name) I'm 99.9% sure he's a gold farmer though. He runs a circle in the basin area night and day in kirin tor skinning monkeys. It's a little creepy lol like a robot.

On my main hunter my stable is full, on my alt hunter used strictly for dungeons I found that 2 or 3 slots is enough. I don't need a tank for dungeons just ferocity.

I know it's all just pixels but I have a heart of mush too, especially for the dogs. It's really hard to let a pet go sometimes.

Personally i cant decide on which of the 4 spirit beasts i like best....

Gehasst is my buddy. He helps me with dailies, farming and other PVE things.
Adelina usually helps with raids. I know wolves are what people rave about but her DPS more than makes up for it.
Bob is my PVP pet. I love his ability to hold people in place.
Dante and who I use when I need my MM rather than BM.
Nigel is just cool and for those raiders that do whine, he is there for his furious howl.

The ONLY hunter I know of tyhat I have that has one pet- is a belf alt on Alonus that I ran all the way to Dun for, aka the snow leopard.

My stable line up at the moment:
Call me crazy but im thinking about getting rid of billiejoe... i hardly use him, i love him but i dont know i just dont get the same feel from him as the others.

On Silvermoon, I've known several hunters on both factions only using 1 pet. I've always hated letting my pets go in the old days because I've tamed them for the skills and then let them go, or with what happened to Humar and Rak, I had to let them go because I couldn't keep them all lvl'ed up closely enough.

My current line up is as follows:
Old Cliffy - mainly for raids and heroic instances
Loque'Nahak - on some raids and instances
Arcturis - on some raids and instances
the Beast - tooling around and I've taken him on some instances
Sewer Beast - raids and heroics

I've had Araga before and may get Araga again depending upon what happens with cataclysm and if any pets go extinct.

BTW gratz on Gezzarak celestial88. Seems like whenever I take a break from WoW, some pet is bugged and then 'fixed', ghost wolf, the basin spirits and gezzarak, before I come back. LoL

As for me, I've pretty much already filled up the whole barn by the time I tamed my cat.

I actually love my spider as my first pet for the fact that I don't pvp but there are plenty of mobs that want to run away when they are running low on health and want to run to their buddies for help. My spider's web takes care of that right away.

If you're wondering why my sig of my scorpion's name is different from Antares, that was the name for my scorpion back when I still had my old hunter.
