Pretty much.
Is there any way I can find and look up the rules? Just out of curiosity.

Seems that GMs tend to be pretty lazy; if you come up with some odd thing about a guild's, player's, or pet's name as being offensive to you, then you can force a name change. Personally, I think that a name being reported as too violent should be ignored if the name is less violent than tearing out hearts for use in a demonic summoning ritual, cutting off ears or heads to present for bounties, butchering civilians as they plead for their lives just because a voice in your character's head tells him or her to do so, torturing people to death in an attempt to interrogate them, or cannibalizing corpses of other players. If anyone finds something which is less violent than any of the above to be offensive due to being 'excessively violent', then it's pretty damn clear that they either should stop playing the game or are merely coming up with an excuse to force a name change out of spite.

Sure. Lemme see if I can find the link.

Roleplaying Policy
Naming Policy

Both seem to apply to not only player names but Guild names too (except the Titles one). Might also explain why you cant name a pet certain names, cause it's copyrighted and Blizz says no.

Well, the original founder of my guild hasn't been active in the guild for so long (someone else has taken over the guild leadership formally a while ago) that our guild leader decided to change the name 'Enigma' to something that has more meaning to us. Submitted a ticket to a GM, and he got a reply telling him to come up with three or so names (can't remember exactly how many were asked for). So, a guild meeting later, we submitted our ideas, and became The Crimson Hand (had been hoping for Band of the Red Hand, but the GM took some liberties it seems).

So, since this guild was given to you, ticketing to ask for a name change would definitely be worth a try.

Can anyone recommend a decent set of armor pieces to create a decent looking disco outfit for a worgen/human.

Really.....really.....really tempted to start hosting Guild dance offs...

Oh my, I think this may call for a specialist: Vephriel

The only suggestion I have is the Stylin' Purple Hat or recoloring of that piece.

The Stylish shirts also have flaring cuffs, btw. Unfortunately, they only come in green, red, blue, and black.
