as to to op subject, I am wiccian/pagan and now i must go find a taco xD i am not too... good when it comes to the religous stuff, had bad experiance when i was younger, i couldnt be comfirmend(sp?/in the luthern religon) because i would say what they wanted me to say when they wanted me to so i pretty much said, goodbye and converted and never looked back, i am happy with being wiccan/pagan. actully i <3 it what can i say :3

Good for you A good friend of mine is a Pagan. She's probably one of the nicest people I know! So when we started to hang out, my fellow Christian friends started to leave me. I still am a christian, but I don't really give much towards the community. I don't believe that God would turn his back on people who don't really follow Him exactly how He wants to be followed, but my friends frowned upon my good friend and me. I am supposed to see God in everyone, but I don't in them anymore.

Sorry - religious elitists, like people who would shun you because your friend isn't Christian, really don't seem religious at all. It just seems self-centered and selfish. So I officially approve of you and your friend!

Oh wait I forgot I beleave in EVOLUTION :S I like the idea that we all came from primapes and stuff. I was brought up this way so yeah XD

Oh and it was fun watching the Christian guy in my evolutionary bio class at high school basicly disagreeing with the teacher on everything lol. I don't even know why he took that class in the first place!

I second that motion . I also got a friend of opposing religious beliefs and he is like one of my brothers, LoL. He walking in my wedding in April, Lol.

Thank you :3 I have nothing against people who are all for their religion and who live to serve their diety. I actually thik it's great that they are able to dedicate their lives to such things. But when a religion or a belief either includes harming another person or excluding others just because of who they are... I'm sorry, I have a big problem with that. My friend I spoke of is actually the girlfriend of my best friend, who is Luthern. Then my other good friend is... idk, he goes in between atheism and christianity all the time. But none of us have EVER conflicted with one another about our religion or beliefs.

Well to my knowledge Evolution doesnt make us come from Monkeys, it's actually we were humans but just more primitive like. It's not like in 10000 years a chimp will grow to be exactly like us... True that they could be very similar to us, but not exact due to difference in genetics. But then again I havent studied evolutionism in years, so I could be completely wrong

I kinda do believe in evolution. I believe that every organism on earth is evolving and their genetics change from generation to generation. does this mean I don't believ in God? of course not! I believe that God allowed humans to evolve and knew when humans would be developed enough to try and communicate with them, such as Moses and the Burning Bush.

Evolution 101:
Two individuals of the same species. One has a little mutation, causing his nose to be a little bigger. His bigger nose allows him to smell better than his buddy, who doesn't have this mutation. *BAM!* a sabertoothed tiger appears, sneaking up on them. The one with the big nose can smell it, and runs away. His buddy is left clueless, and is then devoured. The guy with the big nose, however, runs home and mates, fathering children with the same big nose. Because the individuals with the big noses have a better chance at survival they get more kids, thus spreading the big-nose-gene.

Tiny changes like bigger noses, more camouflaging furcolor and toenails have been going on for all the existence of life, turning us from tiny little single celled organisms to flies, humans, cows, raptors, amoebas and whatever. If it can survive better it will spread.

Yeah evolution is pretty much not debated anymore.

I'd rather we avoid any debating about Evolutionism and Creationism here just because it tends to lead to flame wars.
I don't want to see that happen. It's hard enough to have discussions about religion as it is what with all the hate out there.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I'm just saying this in advance and not that anyone has started a flame war.

It may be a little nit picky, but we (as humans) are one of the "great apes" which is the Hominidae family (includes, gorillas, orangutans, chimpanzees and bonobos) which is a part of the "ape" superfamily Hominoidea (which includes all of the gibbons.)

I find "great ape" a better term to describe the specific shared traits that "we" have, than the term "primate" which refers to an entire Order of animals. (includes baboons, lemurs, tarsiers and marmosets)
But then again that is my opinion on it.

The theory of Evolution is not faith based, it is evidence based.
It is actually the most heavily vetted scientific theory and scientific fact that there is. (yes, its both a scientific theory and a scientific fact)
Well beyond the theory of gravity or the germ theory of disease.

But of course you wouldn't know that with the stuff on the news today.

One last thing...

I will stay away from the religious statements, aside from this clarification, Theism and Atheism speak to belief.
Gnosticism and Agnosticism speak to what can be known.
So you can be a Gnostic Theist, an Agnostic Theist, a Gnostic Atheist or a Agnostic Atheist.

but on a more srs note, yeah i cant stand people who preach about their religon, we had some people come up to us when we were walking to our car and pretty much gave us flyer and said, if we are not their religon and dont convert to it, we will go to hell..
