If it helps I thought it was clever and amusing at the same time. I personally thought there was nothing wrong with it being there but there really strict on the no name shame thing..

I'm glad to help. And yes, it is perturbing how people act towards opposing factions even in 'pretend' environments. I think Penny Arcade's 'Anonymity+audience=ASSHAT' equation is a good factor too.

Seclipse, btw, I find your post incredibly insulting and rude in every way, and as everything you've said in it is hopefully addressed in this response, that's all I'll say.
well i found your original post to be quite immature lol

no i removed my original post because its not worth the hassle of more "they griefed me" posts.

you lost a pet, sorry, sh*t happens. whining to a GM wont do nothing. and then naming the character not once, but twice (the pic still up btw with his name in it) is down right immature.

but i could really care less, its a game. im not about to get all hot headed over a pet in a GAME, ya might wanna try that.

It's not the pet, it's the action. I find it disgusting that human beings can treat each other so poorly, knowing full well that they are intentionally causing another human being pain - be it physical, emotional, etc. Yes, it is just a game, but just the fact that this person is going to such great lengths to screw with someone is sick and sad. In my opinion, it is that other person that needs to grow up and stop acting so immature. If they really have nothing better to do than to be a complete dbag, then maybe they should go outside and get some fresh air or something.

Acherontia, and other people, have a right to be upset every bit as much as you have a right to not care about it at all. ;) But still, moral of the story is, that other person was a douche for no reason at all, besides to just be a douche. It's pathetic.

No, the picture isn't up.

This is a pet forum, and the posts include a lot of tales about tames both successful and bad, and it's a place for people to also vent frustration when jerks game-troll you.

If you have a problem with that, just don't post on those threads.

It actually wasn't my pet in any case--I'd probably not be upset if it was. But the idea that a friend of mine gets their hopes up, then massively disappointed over nothing, is just... cruel.

(Sidenote--the reason I'm reporting him is because hopefully then he'll get a warning or something that might preventing him from repeating this on some other poor hunter)

Yeah, it may seem a little over the top, but they request screenshot proof so... /shrug

It's honestly the intent in my opinion. Killing something mid-tame is DEFINITELY griefing because you know someone wants that pet. Yeah, people stumble onto rares and kill them. It happens. But doing something to cause someone distress, deprive them of an in game pet or whatever? Griefing. Yes, I know seclipse 'wah wah wah get over it'. Gods forbid someone expresses frustration after getting their hopes up.

For someone who claims not to get hot-headed over things, you sure do love to swoop into these threads and tell people to get over it then get annoyed when people point out why they have differing opinions.

Frankly, sometimes venting helps. And yes, griefing is reportable. Deal with it.

This thread seems to have degenerated into squabbling amongst ourselves, so I'm just going to lock it here before things get any more heated.
