You'll notice I wasn't talking about you, OP - I specifically mentioned that it wasn't you I was referring to. :P I'm not attacking you or, in retrospect, anyone here really, It's just something I've noticed that crops up time and time again.

What I was trying to say is that the majority - not entirety - of hunters I meet seem to think that if you don't rehome a tameable rare or at least try, you're a terrible person because someone, somewhere, wants it and has been looking for it. I understand that it's disappointing to see him kill it, and I honestly didn't mean any offense when I posted. I've lost pets on my hunter and I've seen tameable rares killed on my warrior, so I know how it feels from both a hunter and non-hunter perspective. I just think it's an issue that needs to be addressed, because while you behaved in a calm and rational manner, I have been on the receiving end of some nasty attacks that come from someone who is most definitely not.

Truly I'm rather interested in where the whole thing started, and why it became such an issue. I'm sorry for derailing your thread to rant, though. ;)

Hey go for it, apologies for misreading thar! I'm very much all for people wanting to smack the eejit who thought tame stealing/mid tame killing was clever and more GODAMNIT about just missing out for whatever reason. My nack for tripping over rares I want may have something to do with it mind.

I could be wierd though as whenever I trip over a tamable rare on an alt, I always do a call out and after thats free game. Some however may be out of revenge I don't, namely a certain once elite blue raptor called Takk who loved ganking the heck out of lowbie Aria... Of course he seems to realise I've not forgotten about that and I've only seen him in the wild once since.

I will not deny the temptation to drop kick anyone who decks Deathmaw infront of me when the servers come back tomorrow though I want my rare brown worg damnit!

I actually had a guildmate kill Karoma yesterday, totally not realizing it was a rare hunter-pet spawn (since the puppy is aggressive) and then they linked the tear, feeling all guilty and apologizing.

Ironically enough, I had tamed Ghostcrawler only moments earlier, so was quite pleased in any case. (Also, it seems the tear of guilt trips works, at least in one case!)

I just remembered another couple cases i had-- i found king krush once dead (i was hunting him and loque to tame), day after i found him again and tamed (thankfully the ally that ran by saw me and left him alone)

couple days after that i found him again and tagged for another hunter in the zone but a rogue (horde side too) killed him while her friend healed me cause i was low on health (i was holding him so no one would kill) and then apologized cause they didnt ask if i needed help before jumping in...

few weeks after that i found krush again and i got my guild leader over, hired a healer that was in the basin, and she tamed successfully i found loque later that night just before bed and about a week or two later my guild leader decided to set up camp, then went to bed, then woke up and found him in the second area she flew over
