Got him this morning at 1:45am server (4:45am my time, ty waking up to the call of nature!) Woot! It looks like it's definitely a 7hr spawn. I camped him for a few hours last night along with an 85 dwarf hunter (who ended up getting him). He had spawned at about 6:35pm server. Good luck to everyone looking for him, he's really cool looking. Sorry no screenshots, it was quarter of 5 in the morning after all

Just saw him tamed My heart broke. Ah well atleast I know a timer..ish now. So, he got tamed now (6:20pm), means I'll go back around 1am?

Wow ive never actually had my guestimation become 95% fullproof for ppl across several servers before o.o Grats to everyone who tamed him btw! I send the rest of you Hunter's Luck vibes ~mmmm mmmm mmmmm ~sending vibes~ mmmmmmm mmm mmm~

I find it odd though. Most of you have caught him between the 7th-8th hour of the last spawn (supposedly) and theres others that have, like myself after only 5 hours, and some others who've been looking for 15hours+ at least now with no luck

After me accidentally one-shotting Olm on his second spawn after his return to the world I finally managed to tame him on what I believe to be his 4th time spawning.

Here is what I know...

Tuesday 2/8 - servers come up around 11am server time, I think. (I was at work, but think I saw someone mention the time.)
Tuesday 2/8 - sometime not too long after servers coming up Olm spawns and is either killed or tamed. (guessing, considering the time I find him later.) He could have spawned twice on Tuesday but the time frame would have been around 5-6hrs each
Wednesday 2/9 - I accidentally one-shotted Olm at 12:35am.
Wednesday 2/9 - I am back camping for him at 7am, but never see him and the server restart happens at 8:05am.
Wednesday 2/9 - Olm is tamed by another hunter at 11:10am while I am on this very thread talking about me accidentally killing him.
Wednesday 2/9 - There seems to be a guild event happening for another guild in Felwood to get one of their hunters an Olm, so I log out while the 3-4 others (all of them non-hunters except one) blanket the area showing dominance... their hunter tames Olm at 7:45pm.
Thursday 2/10 - I stay awake til 2am server and never see Olm, and another hunter from my guild was coming to Felwood anyway so I log off.
Thursday 2/10 - I log in at 5am and my guildie is still there, but no Olm yet... I go back to sleep.
Thursday 2/10 - I log on at 6:49am and I am welcomed by NPCScan going off... this time I just hit tame and get Olm. My other guildie is not on.... (thank goodness)

Recorded spawn times:
2/9 12:35am
2/9 11:10am
2/9 7:45pm
2/10 6:49am

So it may seem the 7hr thing might be a fluke (maybe), and Olm has a 5/6hr-11hr (somewhere around that) spawn time.

But who knows. I don't think I have enough spawn times recorded to come up with enough fact to warrant everyone thinking the spawn times rotate at 11hr then 8hr, then back to 11hr then 8hr, and so on... the spawn rates on my server might just be screwy.

I really didn't want to make a new thread, so if this has a home, please move it there =)

8 hours after I saw a tame go off and about 3 hours worth of camping has given no Olm. so he takes at LEAST 8 hours, I'm guessing. He may use the 8 - 12 hour rule we all love so much

Actually, It's 4 - 8 hours......^_^ That was already proven in the other thread. Most times he always pops up at the 7 hour mark.

We've hit the 7 hour mark and nada, we're at 8.5 now o_o 4 hr mark would have been 2.40, and we were here then and have been here since, with 0 luck.

Are you sure no one nabbed him? Cause it sounds like the case...someone tamed him then took off. It happened to me twice.

Unless it was EXACTLY at the four hour mark. Another rather twitchy blood elf was there as well (she hearthed), she would have seen it and probably wouldn't be out there. A post in this thread shows a 7.45 pm - 5am gap of no Olm. That's scary to me.

Yeah, I'm startin to think someone beatcha to it when you werent pacing.

She had to raid. We had me, Caleb, and Seth all along the area, so we know she didn't get it, she never left our sights. I'm not really one to camp, I have very very little patience, so I hope this 4 - 8 is more accurate than

This thread is the first thread to pop that explains Olm's spawn timer in detail after confirmed sightings in a Live Server and not PTR or just in general either

it can vary from server to server but i dunno how he can go for so long without popping for you or your buddies camping his other spawns...

i tamed just after only 5 hours, most ppl seem to get between 7-8 hours, others have been waiting at least 11 hours (i can imagine they did go afk at times for RL stuff) and of course theres the times when all of a sudden he pops, someone discovers and nabs, and dissapears without a trace as if he never showed up at all.

If theres another person waiting anxiously then the rarespawn they're after pops within view, it may only end up having a lifespan of 15-20 seconds :/

Why is it impossible for him to have an 11 hr + spawn time? The patch has been live for 3 days, not sure is possible to rule out that log of a timer yet. I'm personally going to ignore the patch notes of "they is shortuurrrr", based on the debacle of things about what was/was not in them. Regardless, his old spawn was 24 - 36 yeah? 11 is shorter than that, though not desirable.

Well it's said they shortened respawn timers A LOT and many people reported the same times. I've seen him 3 - 4 times and its been in the 4 - 8 hour range. Plus the PTR results too...

Olm is sought after, but I am not seeing 50 hunters in the area trying to get him.

I am the one that posted two different 11hr spawns with an 8 hour spawn thrown in the middle.

Considering I knew every hunter in the area during the time I killed him to the time I tamed him with only 1-2 hours on the edges (will explain below)... I am going to have to say his timer is 5hr (which people have said here) to 11hr (what I personally witnessed... twice)... and what is smack dab in the middle of 5hrs and 11hrs? 7h30m-8h which a lot of people are saying is the most common.

When I said "edges" I meant when one of us signed off another one of us would be on shortly after and an hour or so later Olm spawned. There were about 5 hunters total and only one of the five doesn't have it yet, but i do know what the next spawn was after I tamed him at 6:45am... it was 2pm seen by my guildie who watched as another hunter got the claim first. That was a 7h15m spawn, but I am not 100% sure exactly when he spawned... all she told me was "2pm".

Edit: Blizzard said they shortened spawn times, but they didn't say they made all spawn timers 4-8 hours. Olm's old spawn time was something crazy like 36 hours or something (I can't remember exactly, but i know it was well over 15hrs...).

On a side note... I tamed Strider Clutchmother last night on Nesingwary and about 15min later she was back up... that is crazy.

I got ninja'd after the 4 hour mark....so.....^^; Not trying to dash your research but Moon Guard had hunters swarming the area during peak hours.

So far, for all my guild mates who've hunted this elusive beast, the spawn timer has been right at or very close to 7 hours.

Maybe Olm spawns differently in relation to how you are holding your tongue.

All I am saying is the 11hr spawns I listed were indeed 11hr spawns. There was no way Olm could have spawned in the 1-2 hours between known people not being there and then respawning 2-3 hours later... because that would make his spawn time to be shorter than 4 hours sometimes.

But who knows.

He might. Some rare spawns are like that.....Nah I'm just trying not to sound mean. Hehe.

We're 9 hours in now with nothing to show; we'll go 11 hrs from here and after that may need to seek therapy. I mean try again tomorrow.
