It's really nice you're able to do something like that, and for a good cause too.

Personally, however, I never could. My hair's just as long as yours was before your haircut, but ... I can't bring myself to cut it, for any reason. I did once, when I was in the sixth grade, and I cried. I can't do it now. Not even for cancer patients. Sorry, but it's my hair. I'm not vain about anything else, I don't wear makeup, I don't care about fashion, my hair is the one thing about my appearence I actually give a crap about, and it's not going anywhere, not for anybody, not for any reason.

I'm sorry if that sounds selfish, but that's the way I feel. Besides, I prefer to have the more optimistic view that these kids will get better, and when they do, they can grow their own hair back.

I wish I'd seen this thread when I chopped my hair off on 12/18/10. 13 Inches came off to which it was in turn donated to Locks of Love as three of my family members have been afflicted with cancer including my sister who's by the heavens in remission now.

Thank you to all who've donated!!! It honestly means more then you could imagine.

You're pretty noble for that! And really brave.
Every time I think about, I tug at my hair and look at how long it is and chicken out. I had a lady once just destroy my hair; I love it long, and instead of a 2in trim she hacked 6-8 inches off, flipped it out (I like it straight!)... I literally wouldn't use a mirror for 2 weeks >_>

I've done that three times. Each time I decided to snip my hair, I ensure it's long enough so it can be donated. ^.^ It feels great!
