Yeah on my server we've had the same issue with both Sambas and Karoma. It's definitely become a no win situation I think, those who got used to rares dropping blues being pissed that the animals drop nothing but the tear. And hunters being upset that people who are killing the rares because they're upset that the rares don't drop anything.

Oh yeah, I know it's the person behind the keyboard but they give a bad name to a class when it seems to always be the one they use. And yeah, I've given up Sambas before taming him for checking out. Had a guy on Gen wondering if anyone had seen him. I just happened to cruise by even though I was hunting Karoma and had NPCScan go off. Instantly pst'd the guy and invited to a group. He sped over there and tamed it and then gave me 150 gold for helping. I told him he didn't have to give me anything but he insisted since I could have been evil and took the tame myself. He even dropped me a tip when he knew someone saw Karoma before I got him the next day. So indeed never hurts to have a network. Again, wish anyone out there (so long as you haven't crossed me) good luck when rare hunting.
