That picture of Grub'thor is gorgeous, Ache. You really have an eye for screen shot composition. Well, you know what I mean, but it's a really nice catch.

I agree, it's a beautiful picture.

I'm awake late tonight due to having slept all day (been sick lately, lots of migraines), so I decided to go cruising around Northrend for rares. Naturally Sholazar's one of my first stops since I have a fondness for it.
I swoop down over the Hardknuckle Clearing and notice a very distinct large white cat prowling around. Sure enough, Loque is spawned. Now, I briefly entertain the notion of killing him since I
am working on the Frostbitten Achievement, but being the hunter that I am....I just couldn't do it without ensuring he couldn't find a home first.
I check to see if any hunters are in the area, and there's one 80 in Sholazar. I whisper her to ask if she's BM. She said yes, so then I ask if she'd been looking for Loque by chance.
She replies yes enthusiastically, asking whereabouts he was. I invite her into group so she can find the spot, and within a few minutes Loque has a new home.

It was very sweet, she said that she had just transferred to the server and was apologizing profusely for not having any gold to give me as thanks. I told her not to worry and that I was just pleased to see him tamed rather than killed. She continued to thank me for quite a while afterwards, so I know he's got a good home. ^^ Anyways, it left me with a nice warm fuzzy feeling, so it was a good night.

Cool! I did the same a week or two back, and refused the gold that was offered. Next day I got 10 cardinal rubies in the mail!! 0.o
But it was even better to help another BM hunter.
And yes, I will take down a rare if no one is in the area that wants him/her, but only as a last resort. Better than some DK or rogue doing it...

Regarding the Skoll story, if your hunter buddy has dual spec, she could have swapped specs (and then swapped back) to reset the timer.
I love the pics of the rares in the wild with their tamed doppelgangers at their side.

I think that's why I wander around Sholazar and Grizzly Hills with my dino/bear....

What addon do i see a lot of you using for the rare spawn popup frame? I currently have NPCscan, but yours looks different. :O

Hmm, as far as I know most people use NPCscan. Could you point to a specific image, Unggoy?

Its SilverDragon, a sligthly less useful version of NPCScan.

The one in the center is SilverDragon. If you mean the thing at he top, it's just a normal targetframe. xD

I use both.

I like npcscan but I love that silverdragon gives the targetable button. No /tar [mobname] or frantic looking around needed, just click the big, fat portrait.

NPCscan does that as well. I think also with its latest update, it puts a raid icon over the mobs head, to help in finding it just that much easier.

Tyuriwen wrote:Oh I'm loving this thread! Sometimes if I'm on the way to an old-world place, I like to check up on past pets spawn points, or rares, just to watch them, and see if I feel anything towards them that would warrant a tame (for example, on my way to Dire Maul for key runs I'd check up on ickle Snarler).
So I logged into my druid to do a bit of low-level herbing in the Barrens, and who did I stumple upon! I thought he was a slightly bright hyena for the area he was in!
Here we have Snort The Heckler, in his natural habit:
I'll post anymore that I come accross! ^^
That's my Hex! I saw him on a pet website and right at lvl 17 I got him. At lvl 75 I still have and use him!
