This is what I said.

First off, we all love this addon! Second, a few of us over at Petopia forums have been playing with the Editor to making new emotes for families that didn't have many. It's gotten big enough that a few of our members are toying with the idea of putting it on Curse.com.
However, that would never happen without your express permission! We've been sharing custom emote files amongst ourselves, and if you don't like the idea of going thru Curse.com, we would never take it any further than that. If you would like to look at what we've been doing, here is a link to the thread.

Hey Teigs. Great work on updating this addon.

A couple of things I noticed tonight trying to get it working and reading through all 11 pages of this thread:


The original addon petEmote1.6.4 was last updated for wow patch 3.2, so it shows up as out of date. All addons have a .toc file that defines various setup info about them.

You can edit this "PetEmote.toc" file with a text editor. Change the first line to read:

## Interface: 30300

then save the file.
This will get it to work under the current 3.3.X version but will break again once Cata is released. So long as no major coding changes take place, a change to :

## Interface: 40000

may work.

The petEmote editor program is a PC only program that relies on microsoft's .net framework to run. Version 3.5 is linked in Teig's first post but you can also download and use the newer v4 from microsoft's download site. Mac people may be able to use this if they use other methods to run PC programs on their machine already such as wine or parellels -this is probably beyond what most people here would need.

The original PetEmote download does not contain any custom-emotes files, so adding in Teig's downloaded files doesnt over right any of the original stuff. This MAY mean that her fixes to original content, such as the chimerae (sp), are possibly not included. I'll try to check this out over the weekend.

Uh....her emotes did override a lot of the originals. o.o; Least for me it did.

Custom emotes are called such because they override the originals.

As for Cata, we'll come to that road as soon as it happens.

i think it's random and some pets have more emotes than others.
