am i the only one who doesn't care for the dark phoenix?

i fully expected a purple-y ashes of a'lar and i was sosososo excited but NOPE. i will still buy it when i hit exalted (i have been slacking so hard on doing dailies lol) and i might even ride it around for a week...but then it's right back to frostwyrm.

I'm assuming the mount isn't finished to be honest. Prior screenshots i have seen show the mount with a model (not just sparkly purple crap with armor) and currently. when you mount it, it makes a drake sound. So, i'm hoping it changes.

Well... He did it, he finally did it, it couldn't take it any longer and this morning he finally rolled over for me one last time.

He finally surrendered one of my dream mounts. I know quite a fair few people have this mount now, and it's from the last expansion and all, but I really do enjoy the Proto drakes.... and I love blue.... and to finally have both rolled into one, I am a happy as the proverbial pig in the poo.

137 mounts and counting. /cheer!

Now... who else needs a another good ass whooping... oh that's right, Mr Barron!

With the current screen shot that has been posted, I too thought that it would be a little less "spectral" than shown. I don't mind the mount, but I too much prefer the more "solid" version that has been shown previously rather than the one posted

Glad he finally gave in! I'm still waitin' on him. Grats to you and all the other owners of new mounts! And yeh, I would take one; but I'm not impressed with the Phoenix. Less spectral and it would be right as rain. Oh well.

Just to comment on the Dark Phoenix.

There are three different dats for the Dark Phoenix in the WoW Model Viewer. There's the one shown in the first picture (the solid purple with armor), a version of that one without the armor, and the one shown in the screenshot (the spectral looking version with armor). Why they showed the first solid version, which I highly prefer, and then put in the spectral I'm not sure. The original one is so much more beautiful than the see through one. Totally wanted it til I saw that screenshot. I do hope it gets changed.. or we're given and option of which one to buy.

Threw in an attachment with all three together.

Oh...my...god...that armourless dark one is so, so, so, so beautiful!

i really like the idea of a spectral one....but for some reason it looks super unfinished. like the wings are *ok* but the tail is a formless blob that doesn't even look like it belongs on it. it also doesn't have tracers of ethereal light coming out of the wing tips like the one from TK, but i am assuming that is to keep some of the specialness of that mount exclusive to it, maybe?

WOOOT!!! got phosphorescent stone drake today!!! had just put some obsidium ore on AH and went back to deepholm to keep mining. and as i was going towards outside the temple of earth, i saw a horde player on her mount just there maybe afk, and as i mount up and take off, BAM! 3 secs after i went airborne npc goes off!, right infront at the temple entrace , straight up above me i saw it just besides those stone platforms in the air, i fly to it, hop on, just went straight from my mount to Aeonaxx' back and fight began, u do gotta find a certain way to face so u can melee, at some point i was just (being on my dk) howlin blasting it, blood boil, so i was turning diferent ways to find a spot where i could melee it lol. As battle continued, it took me from the entrance to temple of earth towards Deathwings Fall where i finally killed it, looted

a few others were close enough so their npc scan went off too but didnt find it before me. that same person i saw at entrance to temple at beginning of the epic event said her npc did not go off prob cause she didnt have it updated or something. but she did have silverdragon addon. so i told her if only she was a lil higher off the ground , silverdragon would of picked it up and sound off.

funny how i got both the TLPD and Stone Drake mounts w/o really lookin for them though i was keeping eye out just in case one fly next t me ,they came to me, they chose me

That model is used in the Lost City of Tol'vir instance, it's the Harbringer of Darkness.


And yea....it would look awesomea s a mount.

I love this mount, so I'm very happy to have it on another character, but at the same time I'm gnashing my teeth since it took my WoTLK main 8 or 9 months to hatch one of his own.

One of the mobs that needed to be verified was the wolf patrols that exist in Utgarde Pinnacle. So, I go in the instance and check them to confirm their tamability. I figured "Ah hell, since I'm here I might as well kill Skadi." Naturally I've been after the Blue Proto Drake since WotLK launched but I've never even SEEN it drop in all the hundreds of times I've run that place. Then in Cataclysm I started casually soloing it. Never with any luck.

Well....guess what.







I'm not sure which RNG mount god has decided to smile upon me lately, but I am indescribably grateful. ^_^

About 3 weeks ago I made a plan with my guild. Between raid nights, we would run old raids and dungeons for fun and for guild achievements. Our main goal was to get Twilight, Black, and Onyxian drakes for all attendees. Well, I knew knowing my 'roll-luck' I wouldn't have any of them anytime soon, but that was fine with me.

Well tonight, that changed. I managed to get lucky and win my favorite mount ever implemented of the drake family (Overall, second to only Ashes of Alar). The one mount I wanted all of Wrath...

I won the Twilight Drake *squeal*

Okay, so lalala I know it's just a vendor mount, but I -finally- got the tokens for a new mount!

Please say hello to Zapper, the drake of the west wind!







It's a better name than #96, which he also is.

Hey, it's still quite a grind to get the West Wind drake, even if it does come from a vendor. Grats! I think the electric, flying iguanas are so cute and doofy. I should have mine tonight, if I manage to get in on a winning TB fight.
