What do you know that we don't.... *eyes suspiciously*
I just want to know whether they're fully obtainable on ptr or not; whether to waste my time or just wait till live.

Re: New family : Feathermanes
Exactly as Lupen said, and there is nothing wrong with us wanting that. It wouldn't be right to have us searching for hours and hours for something that isn't actually there yet.
Re: New family : Feathermanes
It's difficult if it's just something datamined, as Blizzard don't have any responsibility to comment on things they didn't announce and there may be good reasons for them to want to keep it obscure. Essentially, we take it on ourselves if we use datamined information.
But if they say something is in the game, or hint that it is, and it turns out not to be, then that's pretty awful. Also, deceptive trade practice. But I don't know of any recent cases of that happening and they're normally by mistake rather than intended deception.

Re: New family : Feathermanes
The Mask of Artful Dodging is the most recent example. Blizz claimed for months that it was "working as intended", so Rogues spents countless hours searching for it. After six months of finding nothing, and Blizz still claiming it was there, Rogues decided to heavily pressure Blizz into a response by creating by spamming forum threads on the subject. Blizz wasn't happy about that, but the Rogues got what they wanted. Blizz checked it out and... it wasn't working as they claimed it was. Months of Rogues searching for it with Blizz claiming it was working, all to find out if it was a waste of time.
I can give other examples, such as the Demo Lock Hidden Skin, Bugs with the Ret Pally Skin, etc. The fact is, Blizz's track record hasn't been great of late. So, it isn't unreasonable for some of us to question if these pets can actually be found. I am certain that none of us want to spend hours or days searching for a pet that isn't actually there. We want to know if we're wasting our time or not.

Muffinus also tweeted "if you can find it" when it comes to the Corrupted hippo (as well as the black & white gryphons, which are in), which leads us to believe we can find it now. But it'd be nice to know for sure.

^^^ Exactly. He may be under the impression that we can find it, but it could possibly be broken.

Re: New family : Feathermanes
Ok. So? There is nothing in the rule books it HAS to be in Suramar especially if it's been corrupted. It could have been taken and moved to a completely different zone /world. I wouldn't put it past Blizzard to have it turn up in some oddball place in spots not expected.Valnaaros wrote:The thing with the Corrupted Hippogryph is that it is Elisande's pet.
Yes it could be in Suramar. It could also be worked into a story that in could be any place but Suramar. Isn't that the point of "hunting"?

Re: New family : Feathermanes
It wouldn't make much sense for it to be anywhere else. The Nightborne (of which Elisande has been apart of) has been underneath an arcane shield for the past 10k years. Further, the Nightborne and Elisande did not still utilizing Fel until the shield was lowered (which took place a few months ago). So unless it decided to fly off to Outland Shadowmoon Valley or Felwood, which wouldn't make a ton of sense, it is probably in Suramar somewhere.
Besides, if it is just going to be placed in some other zone, why even called it Elisande's pet? It being called that is a hint. If it is someplace else, then it shouldn't even be called that. Would be very misleading.

Re: New family : Feathermanes
I swear. All I am saying is being open to the fact that Blizzard can place a tamable beast in an unexpected place. "A few months" is a long time for something like a scared flying to beast to go into hiding. And possibly be caught and taken somewhere. The shattering of their bubble could have been scary. Never know.

It didn't exactly shatter. It just lowered quietly.
It just doesn't make sense. If you're going to put it into another zone, then there is absolutely no reason to call it "Lalathin <Elisande's Pet>" Can just call it Lalathin and place it in any fel-corrupted zone.
Besides, have you actually been in Suramar? Suramar City? Both of them are huge. There are plenty of places it could be hidden.

Re: New family : Feathermanes
Suramar City was indeed under a dome for a very long time, but... what if the Elisande's pet wasn't in the city when they casted that giant shield ? It could have been outside the city when the Legion arrived, and thus could have been corrupted long ago. I have no idea of how many years a hippogryff could live, but a corrupted one, I guess, could probably live longer than a normal one. Right ? In short, all I wanted to say is that the corrupted hippogryff may have been wandering around the broken isles for thousands of years, not necessarily inside the Suramar city. Anyway, I would most likely look after it around Suramar too, or even Azsuna and Valsharah eventually. And since the Nightborne and especially Elisande don't bother playing with time, maybe it could be in some kind of time rift. I remember a strange cave I found while questing after the Oculeth's Workshop. But I can't get on the PTR right now.Valnaaros wrote:It wouldn't make much sense for it to be anywhere else. That being said, I'm not interested in that corrupted beast... The one hippogryff I'm hoping for is the green/orange one that would perfectly fit my T19 transmog ! Any hint if it would be tameable at some point ?

Re: New family : Feathermanes
I'm not going to bicker about it, which I feel you're trying to do.
Blizzard should actually not make it tamable at all.
I mean if it's been her pet for 10k freaking years why give it up?? I wouldn't. So lets leave it at that shall we? Be closed minded to any possibility.

I'm not trying to bicker, but what I am doing is standing by my stance that it is most likely in Suramar or Suramar City.
Well, she doesn't really get a say in it. We killed her in the Nighthold raid, whether you knew that or not.
Besides, Lupen and myself (and I am sure others) have been to Felwood. I myself have gone through there four times, searching very thoroughly. If it is there, it is ridiculously hidden.

Re: New family : Feathermanes
I agree with Valnaaros. If it's specifically titled Elisande's pet, then that's context they went out of their way to add, in which case it would make sense that it's somewhere in Suramar.
Unless they're deliberately trying to lead people astray, that is.

They could be doing that, but that would be a tad cruel of them to have us searching Suramar when really it is someplace else.

How about we have a National Pet Hunting day for hunters where every hunter gathers from all realms at one point and scour the Broken Isles, the old zones like Northrend, Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, Pandaria, etc to find the new pets that is "hinted" and confirm spots or spawns. And make a truce among hunters to not be a dick to kill it if one tries to tame it.

Re: New family : Feathermanes
This is a HUGE long shot but are old dungeons accessible on the PTR? Like say .......................... Well of Eternity???? The dark trolls loved the Well of Eternity. Maybe Gon has something to do with that?? Again long shot, no clue on lore, story, blah blah blah but just thinking outside the box.
