Do you think the black Lynx skin would be a possible candidate? Or would the fact that it was once a druid form exclude it? We've had a few posts on the Lynx models recently which made me think of it.

Unfortunately those aren't Blizzard-made skins from the database.. they're player made And yeah, I exclude anything with druid marks. Unfortunately the updated druid cat form also has a kind of pendant that doesn't seem to be removable so I don't think we can even swap wild lynxes to the updated model

Oh, I meant the official model that used to be the Night Elf cat form, not any player made ones. I thought it was still in the WMV files somewhere, but perhaps they removed it. ><

Definitely yes! I'd love an armored warbear pet. It might actually get me to tame a bear that would fit my Troll's tastes.

I've finally found this skin in game!

The bear cubs in the trees in Mount Hyjal for the quest The Bears Up There are little brown bear cubs. They're objects, and as such, are clearly not tamable, but at least we've located the source.

I should have noticed them when I did that quest. Well spotted! Thanks!

No worries! It looks like there was a model change that took place at some point; they used to be a brown version of the Dun Morogh cub.

I also just added to the crabs list:
- Makrura models on beasts. There are two models, Azeroth and Outland, with various skins. Note that Makrura are humanoids. But the Azeroth model has been used for at least a couple of beasts: the Rock Lobster in Stormwind and the Muddy Crawfish in Orgrimmar

Beast versions using those models would make very colourful crustacean pets with a lot of character.

I would love to see the lynx skins updated, and perhaps a new model for wolves. I was really excited to see the updated pet skins that came with Catacylsm and Blizzard answered my prayers for more saber cats, though i am still crossing my fingers that they put the ice cat skin in game in future patches.

Just a note, Wain. You might want to add the undead versions of raptors, like the Living Fossils in the Wetlands, and of windserpents, like the Unearthed Fossil in Tanaris to the list. After all, the undead hawk was previously Undead, but is now a tamable beast. We can hope!

I can appreciate people who want that, but no, sorry I won't be adding those to the list What I was told with the hawks is that they're supposed to just look VERY sick (though I disagree, I think they look stone dead). The raptors and skeletal wind serpents leave no room for doubt. They're nothing but bones. Even supermodels look more alive

That's kind of a shame, since they're both very nice looking mobs, but I know what you're saying. Guess I'll just have to keep trying for the skeletal raptor small pet and mount. I don't know about those supermodels though

Boss wasp SUPER NEON has been found in Zul'Gurub but is frustratingly marked as Level 86 so not actually accessible. Still at least it's in game now.
