So I'm curious for the rest of you that have played HeartGold and/or SoulSilver...

Because the pokemon follow you around, they end up gaining their own personalities and habits since you can talk to'em. Well, have you ever gotten a Pokemon that gained a completely bizarre/unexpected personality?

See, when I started my copy of HeartGold a month ago, a friend helped me pick out a more unusual team, since I didn't want to pick the pokemon I ALWAYS end up getting. Instead of taking the usual rock/ground type, she helped me get a Steelix early. I was expecting this Steelix (named Zirconium) to be a badass, tempermental, dangerous and challenging pokemon in my party.

What I GOT was an eight-hundred-pound, thirty-three-foot-long puppy dog. Every time I talk to him he is playing with leaves, rolling on the ground, and begging to play.

Yeaaah....I imagine getting a 'friendly nudge' from a Steelix would send me clear across the zone....Xx;

You must teach him Attract.

....

Sexy Steelix. Hell yeah.

Uhm...I don't remember what they told me. I think Phantom (Senna's char, usually very snarly and mean) was pretty sweet to me. As was Sol.

I think my Gallade in my SS game had a crush on my player character. Whenever I talked to him he often gave me hugs, blushed, or walked closer. :|

*snickers.*

PMD Edit:

....Uhm.

...What...what have I done?...That poor Gardevoir. I'm really, really hoping there's some sort of trick, cause dangit, I feel like a total jerkface for what I or that human did.

Psh, I already broke a rule in the little challenge here. I got frustrated at the first gym... so I didn't start over and picked up a Psyduck to beat him. >> Meh.

So now it's...

Momo the Monferno.
Kovu the Luxio
Lyra the Staravia
Lily the Psyduck.

<< >> MEEP.

Nothing like that happened for me, I was heavily anticipating the arrival of that game for months; I wanted it to be like the actual adventure I would have taken in my favourite region.. So yeah, when I finally got it, I kinda hacked it so that I started off with a level 5 espeon with a pre-set nature, EVs, and Hidden Power: Fire. I set everything to comply with my character's story, including the espeon's time/date met.

That run through SS was hands down the best hand-held pokemon gaming experice that i've had since Pokemon Yellow. (If I can pull the same thing off with black/white, then I think i'll start with a lv.5 espy or umbry again. Honestly it added to the enjoyment of the game SO much.)

Lol yeah, you feel mean. X3; I won't give it away but I hope you get far enough to figure it all out. ^^-

I am going to kill that gengar.

*glares angrily at it and gets out her stabby knives.*

Edit: Wait, wait, wait, wait.

I left Isaac and Soundwave? No! Dammit, now I'm all sad again. As it stands, I'm leaving and on the run, and I'll miss 'em. Just me and Buzzard now. *hugs him, sniffling.* My only friend now.

*feels all miserable.* Stupid frikking Gengar. Please, someone tell me, I get to tear him up. At SOME point. Please.

Nooooope. You don't. And besides.. *Grins maniacally* Do you really think I'd let you maul him? *Starts cackling, then grabs Gengar and flees, all the while getting Shadow Ball'd and Dark Pulse'd and just about everything else'd by the flailing Ghost type*

THAT JERK IS MINE, SENNA!

*chases after, trying to slaughter the evil gengar.*

He is not evil, dammit! *Clings to Gengar, still fleeing*

What? Can't I wuv him? Seriously, if you guys can hate him so much, I'd say it's reasonable for me to adore the little jerk of a Ghost type <3

*glares at him darkly.*

Well, as long as -I- don't have to like him, and as long as he leaves me alone, he can live. But the second he tries anything...Stabby knives.

Be strong Buzzard!
...I have no idea what you guys are talking about. xD

That's okay, Lupis. xD

I'd say Buzzard's doing well. He's got a level on Sol, but Sol's got more health. He's more suited for Mt. Blaze, poor Sol got torn apart, because she was asleep, on fire, AND poisoned. Really? How is that possible? :[

He's usually pretty tough. Every now and then he'll be scared, but he usually perks up and takes a stand. He's very supportive of poor Sol (who's, ironically, messed up in this game by default, if you ask me.) It did make me sad to leave Isaac, Soundwave, and Team Dusk behind...But I figure the game's going to let me go back some point, and I can get them back.

Oh don't worry, he'll keep on trying! XD; I hope you gathered up enough reviver seeds for that trip, you're probably at a much higher level than I was but it was rather hard for me.

Uhm...Buzzard's at...24, just dinged, I'm 22 and should ding 23 soonish. And I have...5, 6 reviver seeds and a heck of a lot of oran berries. I wish I had more food, but I'll eat oran berries if I get desperate. Moltres should be easy if Buzzard takes most of the damage and I dig or fling gravelrocks. Articuno will be cake thanks to Buzzard's fire type advantage.

Hardly. Sure, he makes a few stupid remarks a tiny bit later in the game. After that? He's not all that bad.

Articuno was really hard for me.. but i'm pretty sure I was on the run at level 16-18.

I've set my team up as:
Umbreon - has Moonlight/Wide Slash, goes at the front to take the hits
Jolteon - has Helping hand/agility/quick attack/tbolt, sits in the middle buffing everyone, uses quick attack to attack infront and behind or tbolt to attack from a distance if we're surrounded.
Flareon - has overheat for aoe dmg, roar to knock enemies back in tunnels, flamethrower to throw at them from a distance, and vacuum cut for moar aoe-ness. <3

I so wish they'd make this a team co-op game, you can have tanks, buffers and healers (moonlight/morning sun/heal bell/aromatherapy) for crying out loud. xD
Senna-Umbreon wrote:Hardly. Sure, he makes a few stupid remarks a tiny bit later in the game. After that? He's not all that bad.
He tries to make them kill you even when you return, then he pervs on you! Then you save everyone and he tries to get rid of you (once again.) and then muuuch later on into the game, you find out that he's an even bigger jerk than you originally thought he was. Anyways we'll see whether or not Azu likes or hates him in the end. XD

*realizes usually people play Pokemon games with strategies in mind.*
*Also realizes she never does this.*

Uhm, Sol so far ends up taking the brunt of the damage. I plan to make her an espeon, so she'll be a fairly heavy hitter and she'll heal.

Buzzard burns things pretty nicely.

Isaac was my tank, really, until the STUPID GENGAR chased me away and made me leave him and Soundwave. *bitter.* >.<

Sorry Senna, I like gengars (Well, Daray, I guess. Not much thought on others) but currently this one really, really irks me.

*Complete and utter facepalm* Obviously.. I'm never going to get you to think otherwise.. But seriously, Gengar isn't that big of a jerk. In the end, he pretty much says he regrets some of the things that he did. ALSO. At the end, after you save everyone, he pretends to try killing you again. But really, he ends up saving you.

I'm honestly wondering why the hell you hate Gengar so much. He's a freakin' game character. Sure, he was a jerk at first, but in the end.. He's really not that bad.
