About a week ago I'd auto-sold a spare death's head stag from my hoard (they were going for the sell value on the AH at the time) and I saw that my familiar count had gone down by one. I know I hadn't sold all of my stags cos Payas has one. Since the spare was gone and I got the treasure for it I figured it was a bug in the counter and went on without thought.

Now today I decided to check the bestiary for a laugh... and saw that poultrygeist was locked again. Checking my hoard, checking my dragons... yup, my ghostly turkey has gone. Somehow in selling that stag my poultrygeist went with it. I can make a joke about that since Thanksgiving's just passed and someone clearly wanted a light snack but damn, I knew selling a familiar completely removes it from the bestiary but this is new to me.

at precisely 2:50 the whole site bogs to a halt as everyone's scroll-snatching scripts go into overdrive.

Needless to say. there were no crackle scrolls when the page finally loaded for me.

I prob shouldnt care but two babes I sold awhile ago got named then they exhalted them!!! Why would you buy a dragon and then just exhalt it? They hadn't even grown up poor buggers

They buy cheaper dragons and exalt them when the different flights are going for dominance. That's how you gain dominance in this game, whichever flight exalts the most dragons to serve their flight leader.

People tend to dislike having hatchlings exalted without names cause then it shows on the parent's page forever as just "Unnamed"
It doesn't bother me when it happens to mine, but if I buy hatchlings I make an effort to name them

i wish i had a scroll of eternal youth to see how all my dragons looked (or, in the case of my progs, would've looked) as babies ;;;;

I always name dragons I intend to exalt, because I really hate seeing "Unnamed" on my own dragons' offspring lists, and know that many feel the same way.
I disliked exalting when I started, but quickly came to accept that not only is it a part of the game that won't go away, it's also very useful. When I have space (and regardless of my flight's dominance attempts), I will go in search of cheap adults or babies with the daily bonuses and level them up and exalt them. I do it because the AH and game needs this. It would need EVERYONE to do it. Because if everybody was exalting three to ten dragons a day, we'd see a much neater AH, where prices wouldn't be as laughable.

In fact, I've just changed my personal dragon selling rules too. If I think I cannot get more than 7K for an adult dragon, I will exalt it. I still prefer exalting my own, when I can. But if someone wants to buy one for 8K and give me 1K of profit then sure, why not. In fact, just yesterday I exalted one of my very dearest and oldest dragons, because she was level 4, would definitely not sell for more than 7K, and I didn't want her serving anyone but the Plaguemother. I got 6.9K so was happy.

People use different stories to make exalting seem less sad, though I personally "kill" mine either as sacrifices to the Plaguemother or because the dragons themselves wish to offer themselves as personal servants to their beloved goddess. I RP it as well. If a dragon gives me a larger sum of money when exalted, they were the willing ones. The others...not so much.

As for the new gene .. it's fairly simple .. those who doesn't have full lairs are simply to cheap to pay 'reasonable' prices for hatchlings these days just because of the state of the market.

I just throw babies up for cheap and they go quick. Sold off the ugly-ish green Imp's I bred for 10k, my mid/crim lady for 20, just sold a green toned (Emerald/Emerald Shim/Navy WC for 30 while I was offline-- I didn't want to play the 'x/x/y' or whatever it is game.), have a bunch of black and red range skydancers in for 10, some various misc. babies from my lair cleaning already sold... I've made about 150k the past week-ish off draggies by selling em on AH or to friends (but I don't mind pricing dragons of every breed, color, and gene on the lower end of things. I can't be bothered to level and exalt them so I let other people do that instead. Gives the buyer a chance to decide whether they want to keep the baby for some plans they or a friend might have or not).

Right now, after accepting the state of the dragon economy, my only complaint is gem prices and their ever-rising prices. I need to WC scroll so many perfect babies of mine that already have their mates and get a Iri/Shim combo for my Crim/Crim lady (I really like the shine, the colors are so prettyyyyy. The fushia is really nice amazingly. Though I might do a speckle if it looks like bloodspatter. Gotta search that up at some point)

Edit: How the fuck did dragons I was moving to the later pages end up on the earlier pages of my lair. I was moving them the opposite way they were ending up. >:( Gottare organize my lair AGAIN cause they're tearing it up again.
