Forget about the mount drop mobs. I never once even given thought to camping them. I check for TLPD once in awhile when I'm looking for Skoll for people in my channel, but please, do not even bother wasting time on mount mobs. There's a guy in channel, I think you actually know him, perhaps Tyrondael? Not sure, but he camped TLPD for over 2 years, longer than I camped Aotona. So not worth that. TLPD is also hideous. Netherdrakes ftw?

Netherwing rep...that is so not a challenge anymore. The eggs are ignored, no one farms the cave, its like an empty land of free rep. I got from neutral to revered in one day, without even hard farming.
On topic: Solix was up. Druid roots solved that problem quickly. He was rehomed to an alliance hunter, though, since no one in channel wanted him.

Rehomed a red Madexx today, the hunter flew out right away and was very thankful.

Not a rare mob, but certainly a strange 'rehoming'. Did my last PuG of the day on my baby mage as my flu medication is really kicking my butt - got WC, it's taking longer than usual because I'm on dad's computer(mine refuses to turn on...again) we lose a dps at the beginning of the final escort and get a hunter...
In a robe, with a two handed axe and a white bow. I'm too busy being tormented by Theraflu to care so I'm just like whatever, let's finish this before I collapse. He seems really new, really excited. When the first round of serpents spawned where Anacondra used to be he completely freaked out, abandoned his wolf and started to tame one, but the npc kept hitting it and eventually killed it. I told him there were snakes during the last boss fight too and he could try for those. We all agreed to let him snag one.
So he runs up, pulls one with a tame, drags two others over by accident and dies. The tank rounds them all up and the dps start burning them down except for one I'm repeatedly sheeping. I keep sheeping, they keep hitting. I tell them to save this one for the hunter(who is almost back and seems really panicky) so they lay off and we let the sheep wander. He breaks free at one point and goes after the tank(which I should have noticed) but I resheeped him pretty quick and we waited for the hunter.
He gets back and after a moment of silence goes "Where are they? ):". We laugh and tell him it's right there, it's the sheep - but he doesn't want a stupid old sheep, he says, he wants a snake. If I was bothered by his gear before I certainly wasn't now - he was obviously very, very new. I promise him that the sheep is really a snake, and that he can tame it this way without dying, but he keeps failing because the tank still has aggro. Someone, I think it was the rogue, says "bear(the tank) run away pls". The bear takes off down the hall with the snake after him and starts hitting him back, and the rogue tells me to poly it again. Castcastcast-LoS. RUNRUNRUNBLINK castcastca-LoS. The snake is as good as dead and the bear is dragging it all over the place until he backs off the ledge and I manage to get a cast off. Snake is safely sheeped, but the tank falls to his death. Healer jumps down to rez and the tame goes off without a hitch - and just like I promised, the sheep was indeed a snake. ;P Unfortunately we forgot all about the poor npc and he died to a mass of oozes, but the boss still showed up and we were able to finish the dungeon.
I didn't say anything about his gear but I told him to take good care of that pet, as it's very special just because of what we went through to get it and, I guess, because I find the spontaneous kindness of strangers to be a heartwarming thing. I left the gear discussion to the(also very kind) rogue because I was(and still am) very close to giving up the fight and crawling into bed. It certainly kept me longer than the average PuG I expected to get, but I still feel kind of good about it regardless.

Rehomed that white wind serpent while questing in Feralas on my lowbie mage. Strangest rehome yet. I just said "white serpent up in Feralas if anyone cares" and someone DID want him and came and got him. I didn't get my 3k exp from killing him, but it was worth it cuz the tamer said he wanted a rare white wind serpent and loved this model. He said he knew about the common versions, but wanted to tame the rares. He's like starkittens, thinks old world rares need love.

It was either Yat or Yoda. Both have a fondness for any type of rare, regardless of whether it has a common model. I'm just happy Aras-whatever got a home.

Thanks Veph and Kalli. xP I do feel a little better now, still groggy but dad brought home proper medicine and food and cherry Dr. Pepper so it can't all be bad.
I can't say I ever wore robes as a hunter(I knew I needed leather/mail but I did stack int and stamina and melee, haha) but it was kind of like seeing myself years ago. He seemed so happy! We got a big ol' "THANK YOU!!!!!!!" complete with 15 exclamation points and excited jumping around - I've rehomed pets before but I don't think any of the owners have ever been that honestly overjoyed. :P
On topic, I rehomed Humar on my old server - I just popped in to check on my druid, and forgot I logged out where he was. Made a baby hunter happy. :)

If you keep up with the consolation corner thread, you'll remember my folly at a Deth camp where an alliance friend was betrayed for helping me try to tame Deth.
I haven't seen or heard from that friend since that incident, and because of it I left WoW for awhile and wasn't sure I would come back.
I did though, on a new server (loving it!), and noticed this friend wasn't on my realID list anymore.
I chalked it up to maybe he was angry at me for something, leaving the server perhaps?
We weren't great friends and had only talked once or twice, but I couldn't even find him on my alliance ambassador to ask what I had done wrong.
Anyway.. fast forward to tonight...I ran into him in MF and he was soloing Deth.. now.. when he helped me, he already had Deth, so I found it odd that he was trying to kill/tame/whatever, but I left him alone and waved/cheered. I watched him for about half an hour kiting Deth around, but he did not seem to be doing any damage, and was not using his pet to deth strike/die.
I thought maybe he was holding it for someone or maybe just testing out his soloing skills.
I pulled my Deth out to show him I was no threat to whatever it was he was doing.
Eventually I see the emote "begs for help" and again a few minutes later.. I took that as my que he needed me, so I sent baby Deth to his death and helped him get into tameable range.
The guy tames him, and motions for me to /sit and /wait I understood. He sent me tells on his ambassador horde and thanked me for helping.
I told him it was the least I could do after he tried to help me and got spit on by his guildie. He replied.. "I remember that! It's good to see you again!" he explained his account had been hacked and the hacker had deleted his friends list and released most all his pets.
We quickly added each other back and I offered to help him regain any pets he had lost.
Anthriss was up and I am happy to say anny got a home with him, AND.. I helped him get Jadefang in a very unusual way.
We found out that a horde can not use their bomb to knock an alliance onto the ledge..
we tried and tried, but it would not work, and he had no night elf friends on to come wisp up and rez him.. we also found out that Jadie-poo does not come willingly to the edge.
I quickly started google how to tame Jadefang and we tried every known option. No dice, nothing worked.
Eventually I found out that if you pull Jade by punching her and put a Spirit pet on passive you can SLOWLY taunt/walk her to the ledge, she will come, but I will warn you, she has this lightning move that will rip you and your pet to shreds and I did die to that move. She likes to use it every few minutes as your walking her to the ledge.
He stood on the rock below and shot her and tried to tame, but she evaded and proceeded to destroy my spirit pet and nearly me (thank God for Heart of the Phoenix!). he tried shooting her a few more times and eventually he caught her attention and he was able to tame her.
(He named her Serahna too!)
I was so happy to get to pay back the kindness he once showed me by helping me with Deth even though we go ganked

And I got my new friend back!

I think my rehoming-metality is wearing off to my fiance. He logged in his warrior today. He had parked him on Fireplume to watch a Krix-Killing-party and forgotten about it. Today he was finding himself staring into the eyes of Karkin. We were phoning in Skype (as he is still in Germany

) and he asked me excited what to do now. I tell him to do a /who for molten Front and look for hunters. Luckily there is one who takes the bite and comes over, a nice pally leaves Karkin alone and asks again in General for a Hunter for Karkin. Said hunter arrives, hits tame and dies. I didn't watch any of it, but my fiance told me all. I tell him to whisper the hunter the taming strategies with silenceshot, but he has no MM offspecc. He dies again, during this time I manage to reacht Karkin and put out my own, to show him I'm not trying to steal the tame and offer my help with silence shot. BUT I was flagged PvP and an Alliance warrior kills me and my fiance, who tried to help my poor Tauren, who has not very much pvp equip. So we are both dead, but the pally seemd nice enough to stun Karkin or silence him, I'm not sure (he died, too, the first time helping out with a stun) - I just get a excited "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY" and when I'm back to rezz he has his nice shiny crab next to him, thanks my fiance and me over and over again. I hearth the heck out of molten front (didn't want to die again) but my fiance had a bright smile on him (and I'm sure he had that warm and fuzzy feeling we all know) and told me how good it feels to rehome a rare instead of seeing it killed. So I think we've got a new "rehomer", although he is not here in the forums he uses Petopia for his hunter after I told him about it

I'm sort of new here but i've picked up on all your good habits and re-homed two rare pets so far and i'm always willing to re-home more! :3
The first was Gondria who is up nearly everytime i'm Zul Drak but I was scouting for Terror Spinner on this occasion (who I eventually killed). I looked in the "who" window for a close by, correct levelled hunter. Found one in Sholazar at lv 77 and they were very interested. Seemed to take them an age to fly over, I was panicking that someone would come kill her before they got there. Luckily they made it in time and they got the tame without a hitch

I only hope they didn't miss a Loque spawn because of that. :p
The second was a lot more tense. I found a nice lava turtle by the name of Terrorpene after I had already tamed mine and immediately searched for a hunter to tame it. First one I ask wants him but he is lv 83 and ill prepared. I told him to bring prismatic elixirs and potions of speed before coming but he only had PoS on him. He had a few tries and of course gets slaughtered each time so I tell him to track the turtle while I go back to SW and grab some Prismatics off the auction house.
I get back and he's dead... again. Wait for him to rez, trade the elixirs over and see what happens.
This time it goes off perfectally and they name the new turtle after me :3 I think my name is a bit ill fitting of a fire turtle but I felt honoured all the same xD he also gave me 25g lol.
I also saw two players including a hunter kite Deth'tilac about and I was on standby ready to help then got called to lunch. When I got back it wasn't good news...
