I will say that I know spirit beasts were in development. That was a long time ago, though, and I haven't heard of (or asked) about them since. So whether any makes it in for release or if it has to wait till 5.1 or so, I have no idea. Just mentioning that because I know there's a bit of paranoia surrounding them

This may a bit off topic, feel free to move if so... I just wanted to shout out to a fellow hunter (My guess is she is a member of the board). I was waiting around for Savage, when he finally appeared but the hunter was nearer to Savage so the tiger went after her. She could have tamed him but instead she stood there and was eventually killed and I got the tame. I thought that was a nice thing to do (I like to think it was on purpose).

Oh, and where did the crane turn up? Or did it?

The crane is in Valley of the Four Winds. And apparently leaves smaller tracks than his feet. -_-

Out of curiosity, are the beasts themselves trackable (beast or hidden) on the minimap before they are flared? Can you macro a with the beast name when they are invisible? If not, I assume they appear on the minimap when they are flared?

Nope, nothing before they're flared.

Update: unfortunately the poor silkworm was too slow and didn't make the boat. She says she's sorry and will be there by 5.1. She said the spirit beasts say hi, as they're travelling together.

So, unfortunately, they ran out of time to add everything, but there's always 5.1 to look forward to Usually the X.1 patches are fast, too, as they rush to fix all the things that break each new expansion

Excellent news! That puts to rest a great deal of worry, I think...at least it does to me! *shall wait with bated breath to see what the new spirit beast(s) is/are*

They have to be cool, since they're traveling with the Lady Silkworm.

Is someone able (aka willing) to compile the locations into something easily accessible? ie Map pic/location with spawned creature?

There will be a time for that, but it isn't tonight, unless someone gets really motivated/lucky, since it's very time-consuming figuring out the pathing. These are HUGE paths we're looking at here, and the beasts are hidden. :/

Yeah... like, I could MAYBE make pathing if the addon Routes worked (not sure if it does I have no addons downloaded on beta) but... it would just be so time consuming and tedious. x.x

The real key with these new beasts is having a general idea of where to look for them and what their tracks look like. At that point, it's easier to find them, even without a full path. After all, if we know that, we're not really tracking them anymore. :/

I'm slowly working on it. I'm only using my own screenshots and my hunter isn't 90 yet, and I found out only hunters can see the tracks, so it will take a while to get everywhere at 86. But I rehomed a quilen

Saying that, I hope I'm not offending anyone by posting this information on my blog. I'm crediting everyone, but, I am not the one discovering these things, you guys do I just want to put the info together... and a blog is much simpler than the huge rare creatures post I have on this forum.

Is Portant (Portent?) phased? I saw him in his Colbalt form for a split second and then when I went in closer he disappeared instantly.

I would say that's rather cool. The info should spread. Plus it'd give Petopia a bit of advertizing
