Interesting....that seems to be an updated list, so if a pet's changed species from the original one datamined a couple of years ago, we can presume that it's one of the new beasts in game.

But that's a big if! Most have not changed families.
Unfortunately, that list on its own doesn't indicate whether a name is a placeholder or actually being used.

Well my Nagrand haul found another about bloody time.
The insanely skittish Wild Sparrowhawks that now have no purpose since the Druid quests got removed are finally tamable. Still the old grey owl skin though. They are practically a challenge tame way they're fleeing from this innocent lower level just standing here.

Thanks

They were made tameable in 5.0, though. The secret to maintaining threat, for me, was to use scare beast on them, as weird as that sounds. They still flee, but they don't drop threat in the process. You have to be quick on the tame and hope they don't get out of range before it finishes.

Petopia could use an update then, since the site still lists them as untameable.

I have taken this list and reduced it to a single column plain text list like this...
Acidous(Serpent
Acroniss(Serpent
AinamisstheHiveQueen(Silithid
Alani<TheStormborn>
Alit(BirdofPrey
Alitus(BirdofPrey
It isn't perfect honestly but there are 377 entries for rare beasts. Before I do any work to it, I want to see if anyone thinks a list of just the new names would be of value. Right now it is 377 long, and includes all beast rares, such as Alani. I was going to remove any name that is currently in game, leaving only the new critters. I didn't want to just spam the thread with such a long list, so I wanted to see if anyone (especially OP) would see any value in it for database or list purposes.

I am so sad to see another beat take Gezz's skin (black warp stalker) I've had her sense she was first found tamable with her cool lightning effects when summoned.. this just makes her feel less unique.
Same with the corehound, darn it I worked hard to get into black rock for mine. That erks me a bit that it's now easier to grab.
The purple beetle too.. man.. Ima be letting go of a few pets now. These tames were like hard feets to over come! Now it's just meh.

For what it's worth, red corehounds have been obtainable outside of Molten Core for years now.

I'll attempt to lurk back up Zangar and into Blade's Edge in a bit since suspect my other 4 characters and Deni's higher level are STILL pretty screwed.
And was going off Petopia on the skittish Sparrowhawks

God I miss the Druid questchain it was fantastic.

Blade's Edge is almost definitely a crash zone. Be careful! One of my higher levels is stuck up there.

It is? Crap I'll head over to Netherstorm via the great void from Hellfire. Thanks for the warning! Lost four don't need to lose another one
[/edit] Or not. The 90% load screen claimed another victim godamnit.

Think they mean Chromaggus, but I digress.
These are all great finds! I check back often to see if any more were added. All we need now are gold-sink stable slot additions, 5 seems about right

Oh right.
Considering how difficult it can be to get to Chromie himself....well....I think more people will be happy with the change than not.

Well for one of my friends it will be, we never got round to it before our only remotely tanking person died :/ There's only so much insanity I can pull off on Aria buggering around in bear form. Doesn't make the BWL versions any less special as you can recount tales of the baywatch room.
Seems my PTR account has entirely been hit by the 90% load screen so for the time being I'm buggered.

I'm just relieved that I don't have to go to arm's length anymore to tame some of these pets.

I'm liking Sunwing tho:
