Just tweeted Jeremy Feasel asking if they'll stay non exotic and keep Bellowing Roar as their family special skill. Hopefully he gets back to me on this.

It certainly wouldn't hurt if more people asked.

So those at least could be added very easily without the need for a new family. And talbuks would be in theme with the xpac.

The family could be renamed from Goats to Caprids. But if not then they could be named Bucks or Buttheads or something.

Haha, the "Buttheads" would be awesome. I was going to term it "Ungulates" though I believe that includes boars and rhinos (but would otherwise cover the whole gamut the best I believe), so I went the completely unscientific route and called them "Grazers" instead. Or "Hoofed Mammals" though I guess that sounds even less elegant.

Added hydras to the list in the OP since it seems quite likely they'll become tameable.

I doubt they will be exotic since the hydras that have been tamed thus far are not bm exclusive. (also the hunter in the screen shot had low level gear and I doubt it would be xmog.) of course the ghost wolf they promised us ended up being a spirit beast but I think that an entirely different situation and Blizz wouldn't make one of the most coveted pets bm only after years of waiting.
(although I wouldn't complain if we also saw a spirit beast hydra at some point...)

Actually I'm pretty sure you wouldn't even have to buy WOD for that, as it'll probably be just a regular content patch.

I'm going to be extra cynical and ask why we're finally getting hydra pets. We've asked a few times, and every time we get shut down. There are going to be hydras in Draenor that will have updated art assets.

Three Families "Confirmed" as Tamable in the Database

Hydras (not Exotic) - Provide Mastery Buff
Riverbeasts (finally a Hippo analogue!) (not Exotic) - Provide Mortal Wounds Debuff
Dragonfly (Exotic) - Provide Stamina Buff and Haste Buff
