Stable ideas for a maybe baby hunter?

I have run into a dilemma. All my story hunters are alts. My main, quivering, isn't really a story hunter, but I have poured everthing into this toon. achievements, titles, mounts, pets, rares etc, this is the toon I do the bulk of my work on. I have 29080989 alts, but quivering is my de facto main.

When I made Rendir, Salaina and Aylee, I planned their stables, and I hurried to level them to the highest pet level to completely their stable. Dont need a max toon to write story's about, but now I am sorta done. I will get Salaina 2 more levels, to 60, but... thats it for them. I dont want to level for the sake of levelling. Only reason I levelled them as much as I did was to get the pets.

I want to incorporate my main in my story, but I am not sure how. Quivering isnt a very good story name either xD. I thought about making a character in the story loosely based on quiv, someone who communicates with spirit beasts, a wise older type. a mentor for the family, so to speak.

I have given the spirit beasts I own some celestial sounding names that made me want to write them, but never found a place. maybe this is it? Arcturis became Aether, Loque became Solaral and Skoll became Lunari. Now I have Anhka and Ban'thalos (not named), and will be getting Magria and Gondria to add to the spirit beast celestial group.

Hmmm... ideas ideas.

I want to incorporate my main in my story, but I am not sure how. Quivering isnt a very good story name either.

Quivering could be a nickname, and people can end up with very interesting ones from their childhood that just end up sticking.

Never thought of that. Would probably shorten it to just Quiv... maybe something like when she was a child, before she could even shoot a bow, she always had an ol pouch slung over her shoulder with some sticks in it, carrying that "quiver full of arrows" everywhere with her... hmmm interesting. Thanks for the nickname idea.

@Quiv: I think you could to quite a bit with Quivering as a mentor. Perhaps she taught Ren his beast mastery? Or maybe just a family friend? I also think that the nickname idea definitely fits! When I used to play on the RP server, I saw people use that all the time. (People with names like "Sneakyelf" used the addon MyRoleplay and listed that as their nickname, using a real elven name, etc.)

I think I'm having way too much fun with WMV and Gimp, editing photos I realized that even though Iraelia is one of my main characters (Or will be once I start writing more...way too much going on irl atm to get all my ideas done maybe in winter when my life slows down I can get them done ) She's level 1, and I didn't have much about her! So, I decided to make a few pictures of her, flesh out her character, etc.

1. She's teaching him that her home is disciplined, and some things are just big no-no's

2. Learn how to fight you wimp! (He's going to be a resto druid and she is in no ways mean to her little puppy)

Next up is a longer streak of related pictures. Now that her daughters are older, Iraelia left home to track down the warlock who slew her husband and avenge him. This led her to Alterac, where the two battled (along with her husband's wolf(black) and hers(White)) Some of these are bad because I'm bad with sizing and making good action shots

During this battle, the warlock died, but at the cost of Iraelia's husband's wolf's life (How many possessive nouns did I use there?) Losing him was basically like losing her last link to her dead husband, and tore her heart apart for a third time (What's the second time? I'll explain that in a story soon) and also hurt her wolf a third time as well, for she was his mate.

Burying him on the spot, Iraelia turned her back to leave, vowing to slaughter any Alliance she saw...but that's before she met Revii, Melodie, or Lucien Their meetings are...interesting


In other words, Iraelia hates Alliance with a passion, is extremely ripped apart emotionally and has a hard time opening up to anyone. Maybe she needs someone to help her...I'll decide when I see how the story progresses without one. The only thing keeping her will for life is her revenge, her daughters and son (once she finds him), and Wykk (which I will also explain why she trusts him so very much...sorry about keeping you guys in the dark so much about my story I promise that whenever I get some spare time, I will write as much as I can about all of them ). I need stable ideas...I'm thinking a darker type, but still reflecting the white she used to have around her...perhaps a grey would do? She is keeping her pure white wolf, but I don't know about anything else

What if when Quiv was young she could barely shoot a bow/gun what have you.. She was so terrified that she'd shake? Hence Quivering.

I like that idea Vulpixen mentioned. She could also come from a background of not archers, but a family in the Fletching business, making arrows and selling them with Quivers. You can go all Pre-Cata nostalgic with that idea. *does her best Old Lady voice* "Back in my day, we used to make arrows for Hunters. Uphill. Both ways!"

Yeah these are definitely some good ideas I never considered. I'm not sure how I would treat this character, if I would leave her shrouded in mystery or maybe have some window into her past. Not sure, but definitely some good leads to build an idea on! Thanks!

I am going to make my main into a "spiritbeast master" instead of the standard beast master in her story arc. Now that I have all the spiritbeasts I care for (all but ghostcrawler, who i have abandoned twice now, and karoma), i am going to start forming this characters story in my head. got some neat screenshot ideas to.

Edit: this screen was harder to do than i thought. low quality, plenty imperfect, but it gets the point across. Quiv, spiritbeast master.

They way you have put those together, they seemed instantly recognizable.

The troll reminded me of Grizzly hills, spiritual but true to the spirit of the hunt.

The orc reminded me of a "street toughened" character, I can see her rolling up in a mechano-hog almost.

And the human reminded me of a rugged outdoorsman, wearing some of her hunts, living off the land.

They came off as notable, but they seemed to be side characters that would flesh out a story. Is that your intention or did I misread them?

You read them right ^^ I was thinking of them for perhaps friends of one of the families, or someone that helps one or more of them in their adventures, or something along those lines...kind of like returning characters that aren't quite around enough to be considered main characters

I am playing around with imagery and story with this character, figured I would do a test run with this small except from the story I am brewing of Rendir's meeting with Quiv. Just a test run to see how it feels.

Rendir was the last to leave the room. The old dwarf followed the mysterious orc out, and Rendir followed suit... until the flickering torch illuminated something briefly that caught his eye.

A single book, open to a page. Rendir's curiosity got the best of him, and as he walked over, discovered it was no ordinary book, but a journal. The orc's journal.

Disregarding whether or not what he was doing was wise, Rendir took to reading.

"I met the cat spirits for the first time today. I don't believe I have ever had an experience quite like that.

They summoned me to an astonishingly plain and obscure mountainside among the Storm Peaks. I knew I was alone up there... well, except for the monstrous yetis that lumbered all around me. I also knew that if something happened to me, no one would ever find me. I could disappear in these mountains.

I was petrified.

I hid among the few trees, moving as swiftly and undetectably as I could, until I came to the place the spirit's had called me to. Lo and behold, a yeti was standing nearby. Luckily so were some trees.

I hid in those trees for hours, and nothing happened. I began to wonder if I was deemed unworthy after all. Then it hit me, something the old dwarf said almost in passing,

"You must trust them. If you act upon your fears, you insult their power, and ultimately them."

I closed my eyes, steeled my nerves and arrested my wavering thoughts. I calmly walked out to the meeting place. I was quiet, no sense in raising unneeded attention, but I still was out in the open. It was about an hour here, but I stayed steadfast, albeit with my eyes tightly shut.

My eyes shot wide open when I heard a collection of roars unlike any I had heard before. I have heard plenty of lion roars, but this sound seemed to echo more in my soul than my ears. It burned my heart, and seared my mind, almost like a purifying flame.

Suddenly, a bright light. I hid my face for the light was too bright to look on. Once it had dimmed, there stood before me the 3 cat spirits, and the yeti behind them locked tightly in an icy tomb--"



Suddenly Rendir felt a presence behind him. He quickly turned around to be looking the orc in the face. He stumbled in surprise and guilt, trying to put the book back where it had been.

Hey guys!!!! I've missed you all so much! Things in real life have been hectic - I've got finals this week (yucky summer classes!) and there's been far too much drama going on at my work. I'm really hoping things will settle down soon because I so miss posting in the forums, chatting and plotting stories with you guys. I have actually been scribbling down bits of a new story on notebook paper, and I hope to turn it into something palpable soon I haven't gotten to read everybody's posts yet, I just wanted to tell everybody hi and that I miss y'all! Quiv: Regaridng the ladies’ man otherwise known as Costin, no I still haven’t quite managed to decide who he will end up with I’ve got it narrowed down ever so slightly: between the night elf, the blood elf, and the orc.

I agree that spirit beasts totally fit Quiv, and I am thrilled that you are incorporating her into the story I think that Quiv is a perfect nickname for her – in addition to all the other great nickname origin suggestions, here is one more: perhaps when she was young, she carried around an old, beat-up quiver with her all the time, pretending to be a hunter? And everyone who saw her instantly recognized her because she always had that quiver with her? Just another thought I loved the short story – makes me want to read more about her and her spirit beasts!!!

Kylah: Your talents at WMV have officially left me floored. Torai and Syrenah are so sweet together! For some reason Torai just strikes me as a charmer; an old-fashioned romantic with a killer smile and a big heart. I love him to death and he and Syre are just perfect together

Lucien is such a cutie. I love him and Rae together – they may look like polar opposites, but at the same time they just exude a mother and son aura to me, if that makes any sense. I just want to hug Lucien!

And oh, Rae’s revenge really got my heartstrings going, especially losing her husband’s wolf in the battle :’( That last picture is heartbreaking and beautiful. Her wolf looks like she is nuzzling her lost mate, trying to get him to wake up. So beautiful and heartwrenchingly sad.

Gosh, all of your pictures look like they are out of cut scenes from the game! I love them so much, I wish I could make mine look so beautiful!!!

And I love the concepts of your three (possible?) new characters! I agree with Quiv that they all had personalities that just jumped out at me – especially the street-tough orc gal riding around on a mechanohog!

Airwyn: Thank you! I hope you guys aren’t too mad at me for going MIA for a few days! Don’t get too excited about the story, I’m sure it won’t be a masterpiece or anything But it’s going to be about Constantyne and Whitnee and, hopefully, it will be very sweet

I haven’t really gotten to do much in-game lately I am pretty crushed because my hubby accidentally deleted Bastienne when he went to delete one of his characters on the same server, so in addition to real life drama that just kind of knocked the wind out of me WoW-wise. I’ve been contacting Blizzard to see if she can get restored, but it’s been a no-go from the two GM’s I’ve talked to so far I know she wasn’t very far along in level and I can just start over, but it still made me very sad to lose her and the pets she had so far.

I’ve still been pondering possible love interests for the kids, and I’m at the same old railroad block I played Whitnee briefly some the other day, and as she was out working on leveling her skinning, she was approached by an undead death knight. I expected him to kill her, but instead he waved. She waved back and for the next hour he followed me around, helping me kill animals to skin and communicating with me through emotes. It inspired me to the point that I’ve thought about maybe, just maybe, Willoe falling in love with an undead. I don’t mean to rip anything off from Quiv with the idea – I just think it would be interesting, given Whitnee’s feelings towards the forsaken.

And now I will shut up
