Someone in Trade goes on a rant about how bad the players on Wyrmrest Accord are at PvP. -headdesk- It's an RP server for god's sake! Sure some people do it for fun, but don't expect the entire server to be good at it.

He was likely trolling, but still. >.> ARG. So tired of these PvP arguments on my server.

well, its still better then last nights trade chat on WRA (alliance)...Gothic ERP in trade...yeah, less then thrilled about that.

Spent a good 40 minutes kiting Deth around, frantically rezzing and even abandoning a few beloved pets in desperation- I really, really wanted this spider! People, thankfully, ignored him (apart from a curious quester who got flattened) and left me to happily kite. Finally got him down to tamable health! I had an 'active summon' and couldn't tame him, however. Hurriedly rezz'd my pet, began to dismiss and-

A draenei comes up out of nowhere. Spams tame. Magically gains aggro. Tames Deth. Hearths.

I'm baffled.

I'd imagine the one who pummeled him with shots for 40 minutes would have more aggro.

Toph;; Thanks.(: She's out of surgery right now and made it through that fine. I can't see her for a few days and have a lot of cleaning to do (ugh blood everywhere), but she should be fine.

I don't use it anywhere but online and (occasionally) in text messages. I would die of shame if I used it anywhere else!

Another - oft repeated - rant: LORE. IT'S THERE FOR A REASON. USE IT.

Half-breeds in particular are a sore spot with me because people REFUSE to play them right. Like straight-up IT'S MY GAME I'LL PLAY HOW I WANT I CAN BE A HALF-UNICORN WHATEVER BECAUSE HALF-BREEDS ARE SO POPULAR IT MAKES SENSE RIGHT and I'm just like NO



You are pretty much limited to half-orc(with human or Draenei or ogre) or the occasional half-elf(as in high elf with human, goddammit, not troll or whatever). Nothing else has been confirmed as far as I know. Nothing.

And people are so caught up in being sparkly special snowflakes they completely ignore the story or, you know, common sense. I don't know much about the others, but 98% of half-Draenei/Orc mixes are children of war. Sexual assault. And probably not a very nice childhood, because half-breeds are not well-accepted in society.

Fine miss glittery perfect half-draenei, go walk around Orgrimmar with your horns out and your facetentacles and your white eyes. See how fast you get stabbed. For even more amusement, see how long it takes for the guards to care. I'll be over here not making a big goddamn scene of myself.

And good luck getting the Stormwind guards to treat you properly, what with your Orc blood and all. Hope you like wearing hoods and lingering on the outskirts of society!

I just wish people would realize that the point of playing a half-breed or a dragon in disguise or a high elf or anything like that is TO BLEND IN. It's counterproductive, almost, because no one will know that a dragon in disguise is a dragon at all if they're doing it right. It's like the anti-attention getter. I'm not against people playing things like that, but please do your research. :(

Playing Minecraft, I finally find a free-flowing lava source and I make a bucket and start pouring the lava into water to make obsidian and find out I need a diamond pickaxe to mine it. Fml. Takes forever to get a portal to the nether realm or whatever ;_;

Nubhorns don't forget people who make half-breeds have babies! That's worse IMO seeing as hybrids are useally infertile.

OH MAN you're absolutely right. I don't know how I forgot that, since I've had people pressure me to let Veeka(my half-orc engineer) have a daughter who isn't adopted and I'm like, first of all, she's a questionable mother to begin with due to her childhood(she didn't even want the daughter she has now at first, but she was really little and Vee's mate wouldn't give the little tyke up for the world), and second, she can't have babies. She just can't. If she could, I doubt they'd survive to full term anyway.

And apparently that is MORE offensive to people than playing a half-breed. Apparently I'm limiting my character and refusing to have non-boring roleplays because I'm not walking around pregnant - she's a bomb technician, guys! Explosives and scary chemicals abound!

There are orphanages in Orgrimmar and Stormwind(and Nagrand, for those neutral couples) so I don't see why everyone has to pop out more babies to feed the war machine in the first place.

OH MY GOD I'M USING GIFS NOW, TOO. DOES THIS INFRINGE ON YOUR TERRITORY, NUBS? Also, what is with me and caps lock right now?

Two of my female characters have had kids. One with her husband (who had a family history of having multiple births, so it was only a partial surprise that they had twins) and one with her cousin (and that was forced on both of them to 'keep the noble line pure'). Both are full-blood, one had to quit work for her pregnancy (she didn't want her use of the shadows and diseases and demons to harm the infants) and the other was a 'kept' woman at the time. My third female character will never have children because, as a rogue, she spends a lot of times working with poison and has rendered herself infertile via it.

That doesn't mean that none of my other chars have kids. Tufak (who is mated to an elf) has adopted an elven girl. Daashi (again, mated to an elf) adopted a troll girl, only to see her die when the Scourge tore through Shattrath (just before Wrath release), since he'd left her at the orphanage there in hopes she would be safe while he was killing Scourge in the major cities. Tarlael's fiance was pregnant, but miscarried during the Cataclysm. He visits his daughter's grave regularly.

Your character not getting pregnant doesn't 'limit' her. It doesn't make her 'less exciting'. It makes her realistic. Particularly if she's a half-breed. And, if she someday laments that she can't get pregnant, that just puts her in a position that is even more realistic, given the number of women in the real world that can't carry a child to full term due to various reasons.

Anyway, on to my rant:

Livejournal, won't you please behave? I shouldn't have to try multiple times each day to post whatever short story I'm posting, sometimes losing the story entirely in the process and having to start over completely from scratch. Thankfully the current batch is something I can post here on Petopia first, so that when the time comes that Livejournal is up and I can get to HomelyLetters, I can scrabble to post in that small window...not that any of my readers can see it, since you're not updating their lists.

Ugh.

I think LJ has been getting hit by DDoS attacks of late again, that's what their status page has. I usually use an external editor for my LJ so I can save it. I get too angry when I lose a post or story.

It's been verified that it's a Denial of Service attack. I'm just peeved because I've been doing a short story a day for over a year now (first was January of 2009, but it didn't become daily for a while) and I can't post today.

Lame, I want to level my rogue but all these restarts ;_;
