Blizzard seem to have plenty of imagination when it comes to creature designs but not so much when it comes to creature names.

I just found some other grey stone Quilin in Kun Lai but they're elementals. They seem to be some sort of stone guardians that come to life, because they're standing perfectly still.

I admit that's my favourite too. The texture on it is lovely. But these pictures really don't convey how beautiful these guys are viewed animated in WMV. They really are awesome. The art team has done an amazing job once again. (Note: there are wings on their backs (just folded wings on the back of their heads, not flappy or sticky-outy wings) but WMV doesn't seem to render them properly yet, resulting in most of them just being white. I had to angle these shots so they don't show any of it.)

That's beta. In Cata beta there was a scorpid that was listed as humanoid for most of the beta. It was months before it was fixed.

So how do we know which one is the correct one? XD
How do you get WMV to show the beta models? I have beta and stuff.

I was assuming that ones that were previously elementals were changed to become beasts, which would be a good sign of intent. But maybe I got that wrong. Hopefully 'cookie can confirm.
As for WMV, they released a test build that works for MoP finally. It seems to work fine for me and be stable. It's the latest one at the top at:
http://code.google.com/p/wowmodelviewer/downloads/list
Then you just have to reset your options so it asks you for which WoW folder you want it to read, and it offers MoP as an option.

OH! Ialso, they have their own sounds.

Before they just sounded like cats. Now, I'd say they sound more like... a mix between a tiger and a bulldog. XD

No mantid models are in the game yet. They're still using placeholders for them.

Yup. In both Petopian guilds. Mostly found on Alliance though.
BTW, I told Wain this and it's in the Beast List thread, but for those who don't know we have an unused crab skin in beta.
It doesn't have a diet, but hopefully it will eventually because it's absolutely gorgeous! <3
