You're not the only one that thought her name was pronounced differently! Until about a month ago I though it was kal-ee-ohp.

I always thought it was more of a Kalli-Opie, like in Opie and Anthony.

I always think its Miaconda too, like Anaconda. I know theres not a N there but I still think there should be.

Royi is pronounced Roy-eee but no one really cares about that. I wonder if people on here just know me as Patrick Star. Meh

*rerails*

That would be neat of you Kalli-Opie to get videos of all the pets in action. I really found that one with Stompy beneficial since I can see exactly how they pan out in the wild.

I hope they do Spirit Beasts like this too. No longer will random passerbyers kill these rare pets. Unfortunately there will be griefing from other hunters and rare occasions in which someone will stalk another to wait for the pet to appear, but i think overall these instances will be much much lower than in Cata, and even lower yet than poor Loquenahak who happened to be part of an achievement :(

I always knew how it was pronounced but then I'm also old enough to remember when people still played those things. :D It was spelled differently, with a C. Kalliope was also one of the Greek muses.

Just found this guy right before server restarts and after 2-3 World Server Down errors lol Image

got a few tips for those after this lion thing firstly I believe they travel from East side of map to West now not 100% sure on this
also I think this guy moves fast cause I went wrong way for like 30 sec came back to freshest track I had to keep tracking but I ended up flying until middle of map to get to end of it maybe again im wrong but yea good luck all!

Welcome to the site, Reaper!

Thanks for sharing, but all of that info (including those exact maps) is in the first post of this thread. ;)

Sorry to contribute to the earlier derailment of name calling, but all the "I thought it was pronounced so and so" made me think of:
"It's spelt Raymond Luxury Yacht, but it's pronounced Throat Wobbler Mangrove" :D (Monty Python for the win)

To stay on topic, I'm really liking this new rare pet hunting design. It'll be nice to be able to look for rares without having to worry about the general public being jerkweeds about it (the occasional hunter-jerkweed might still be an issue, but better the devil you know I suppose)

Thanks for the video too - I had no idea what people were meaning by "flare it". >.< Cause that's how often I use flare in game these days (or indeed... ever)

Not sure if this is on topic or not, but I felt the need to post it anyway.

I had a dream last night that I found the purple Portent, the colour I wanted most, so I was happy. But right before I could tame... another one appeared. And then another. And then another. So then all four colours were up at once. But then they just kept spawning! There was like 50 Portents by the time it stopped. D: And for some reason they could be seen without the flare too.

Well, that actually gives me a reason to bring up the fact that when the rares spawn, they're visible for a brief moment before going into stealth. :D

I just tamed Green Portent on Gilneas. I followed his tracks not far from his original spawn point and I actually saw a track disappear and thought I lost the trail. I flared just for the hell of it and he actually walked into my flare a second or two later and immediately started attacking me. I didn't know these rares are aggressive and apparently they don't pat in a straight line over the entire path. He must have turned around and been patting back and forth in that small area between his spawn point and just across the road or why would one of the tracks have disappeared while the others farther back didn't?

ETA: Also the tracks started way back in the corner between the wall and that rock on the side of Mogushan Palace. That must be his initial spawn point. And it was following the tracks forwards rather than backwards that led me to Portent. Good to know they fixed that.

AFAIK the flare is what makes them aggressive?

He could also have just returned to that corner and turned around, which would explain why he was there longer and why the prints were going the right way.

And Meggers is correct. :) That info is covered both in the first post and in my tracking vid. ^_^

I think you're right about Portent turning around although I didn't see tracks going in different directions I did just follow Stompy's tracks and they were going backwards. He didn't aggro when I flared him though only once I started taming. Bloodtooth didn't aggro from flare either. Weird that some mob's do and some don't.

They'll only aggro if someone's within the flare with them, so if you shoot it from a distance and stand outside of it they won't immediately snap onto you or anything.

Actually, I just checked my tracking vid again - Stompy DIDN'T aggro even though I flared him when he was practically on top of me. That is a bit odd.
