But I... I let my boyfriend have the PS3 for this week because I was expecting Flight Rising to be up... and I can't play WoW or GW2 because my good video card is broken... :'( I understand the decision to leave the site down, but augh, this is terrible for me! *regret regret regret*

Getting sick of the drama on the FR forums/Tumblrs. It's a good thing I rarely venture there anyway, because good gods, the people on FR can be dramatic. I think I'll just make an art thread and huddle there in hiding.

Almost everyone from DC went to FR...there where most of the drama comes from True Story!

So, one of the mods were demoted and everyone jumps to the demoted mods side and rips a hole through whatever sites they've been complaining on (Rising Drama's blog is surprisingly scarce) all because they believe she was demoted for who she is and what she believes in.

This is a screenie taken by a FR user who found the demoted-mod's public post about her beliefs and mental barriers. Demoted-mod's friend has been using that and her own rage and hate induced fury to whip up a hellstorm against the admins (or at least trying, and I do believe its working :/) by rallying the FR community together by saying the demotion was a move based on that post and probably other sources that connect demoted-mod to other public proof regarding her beliefs and barriers.

SERIOUSLY PEOPLE.

The mods haven't said why they demoted her, and not everyone can be a mod. There's people who look promising, but the second they get in the position, it can be glaringly obvious if they're bad, alright, good, or great in the position. If they can't contribute the necessary amount of time in a regular everyday week-schedule, or if they're bad at it, of course you're going to be demoted. It's not new, it happens in RL and on social media sites, forums, and games. I hate to see how bad she and her friends ragequit at an employer or company if she finds herself laid off or even fired from a job.

Honestly, until we have more information as to why she was demoted, I ain't believing one word of this bullcrap her friend is posting all over the web to try and rally the users against the FR team. Yes the FR team isn't exactly the greatest and they don't handle these kinds of situations well, but its extremely unlikely they'd risk their site a second time by demoting someone for their beliefs and possible barriers (the first one well, that was to make FR a more socially accepted place as people were feeling uncomfortable that Thrage was an admin after his old FB posts were dug up).

Not everyone can be a mod, FR userbase. Don't jump to conclusions so quickly. It's no wonder with all these personal attacks they make on each other that the forums are such a volatile place on some of the boards there. But like, if by some chance it was because she is who she is, and not because she wasn't able to perform duties as a mod to the degree they ask for (all mod positions need standards or else you could have a disaster and a half on your hands), then I will look down in dissapointment on the Admins.

/just really had to get this out cause holy crap we're going to have a hurricane rip through FR when it's done maintenance no doubt, regardless of what the mods reveal about the demotion

I didn't find the sources myself, I heard about it in chat on magistream in the flight rising guild there but apparently people think that the team demoted the user Khamaseen because of various personal reasons, but not one single admin/mod or the Kham herself has said anything regarding the matter. If you go to the Rising Drama tag on tumblr, theres a few rant posts about it, but I can't seem to find the direct source of the chaos on twitter, FB, or tumblr

Luckily, judging by all the FR blogs I'm following, a lot of people understand it's just someone trying to whip up a drama storm. Hopefully a mod will tell everyone what happened and it'll die down, if slowly, like the Thrage thing did.

Does it really matter WHY she was demoted? I mean it's no ones beeswax besides her and FR. I mean really! People need to grow up.

Unfortunately, there's a lot of people that do everything in their power to snoop and prod where they don't need to be. :/ I just hope it passes over soon and quietly.

It'd be nice if they let us know if they're on track or not. I keep checking the users online to see if there's any admin activity (makes me feel better when I know they're working on it) and the there hasn't been the past several times I've checked (yesterday/this morning)

I am sure they are working on it, but I am also pretty certain they are not devoting all this time to it. They can't possibly have needed a week to sort stuff out if they were working on it properly. The problem is that they still have dayjobs which means they cannot spend as much time on the site as their paying customers deserve.

They don't have 'paying customers', there's no subscription fee. They have 'donators' basically, and donations do not a real job make. Donators don't get to demand service levels because they aren't paying consistently for a service, they just periodically fling money at random intervals.

I agree they could use some more back-end people (sadly my coding skills are not very good or I'd offer) but until the site gets bigger and starts making more consistent revenue, I imagine they're doing 'what they can when they can'.

I look at the bright side though. Hopefully all the whiners and drama children will quit during the downtime and things will be nicer when it comes up. (I doubt it, drama loves misery so despite how often they say 'OMG THIS SUXXORZ IMMA QUIT' they never actually do because then they couldn't continue to bitch. Ah well.

Someone brought up a good point on the FB page. When they *do* come back up (and some people are saying it might be Tues.), they will get slammed and might go right back down again under the load.
