I enjoy this game...but i just don't get it.

None of my pets are show worthy. I really only joined because i wanted a pink unicorn, but I have can't seem to breed one, so apparently i am doing this whole thing all wrong. Enjoying seeing all of you guys stuff though.

Yeah BK pets aren't nearly as flashy as FR dragons so I feel you on not having anything to show.
As for your pink unicorn I doubt it's something you've done wrong as it is pure RNG. It's a 1/10 chance to breed a deviant, and that's if both parents have a high chance/can only produce that colour/pattern. It's all well and good to breed two grey unicorns together but if one has buckskin as a recessive gene and the other tan for example then the chances are lower still. All you can do is keep trying, maybe with additional pairs. That said I really hope you get your pink unicorn soon!
I'm in the same boat more or less as I'm after a normal purple dragon but the father has a silver recessive gene and the mother red. That and dad is constantly out exploring for the exhibition and never has energy to breed

I personally have a love/hate relationship with this game. I love the pets, but I absolutely despise how random the battles are during explorations. I don't really show anything, either, even though I'm really proud of my symurgh flock.

I have been really focusing on breeding no red homogenized pairs. I would be happy to breed any of my pairs for anyone here, just ask.

I feel you on this holy crap. One turn you can beat the snot out of a guardian 5 levels above your pet, the next your pet gets murdered by a regular mob 2 levels below. The absolute worst for me is when your first hit is a crit that brings the mob down to like 1-2 health then they proceed to kill your pet without taking any more damage themselves aaaaarrrrrrgh
This girl was born from Nightingale today. Nothing exceptional except... she has 2 mothers xD Gotta love gender swap scrolls.

She's also up for adoption if anyone wants her.

I put my battles to auto, so much simpler.

But it's more fun to manually choose your attacks and get infuriated by cheating RNG

In seriousness I may try it some time if only to speed things up.
On a random note:

*Cheers quietly and throws a handful of confetti.*
I never expected to get a high score with a team of three low levelled pets with no genetic power, though I was pleasantly surprised to be as high as I was considering the amount of full 5-pet teams below me. It'll be interesting to see what happens next.
