I'm currently half way through Boccaccio's Decameron. It has been a long while since I last read it, and the sheer revelry and playfulness of the work are hitting me all anew. Really enjoyable.

I love Carl Sagan. Now I want to go re-watch the TV series.
Our book group will be reading the Hunger Games early next year, before the movie comes out.

Just finished reading (sections) of Team of Rivals. Really long book about Lincoln's politics. Thrilling? No. Interesting? Yes.
Also read The Crystal Cave, which was quite good. I love me some Arthurian books.
I really should read American Gods, but I'm so far not very sure if I like Gaiman's writing. While he's funny and has fantastic plots and characters, I can't get past the "gross" factor that most of his books seem to have. Call me immature, but for me there's just way too much graphic sex, way too much dung, and way too much other grossness that, to me, only detracts from the story. (Stardust, for me, was really just ruined by all the meaningless gross.)

The golden Compass (finally), No water for elephants, and Abarat: Days of magic, Nights of War (I love to read)

I loved American Gods, but sounds like it is not for you! It's been a while since I've read Stardust, but I don't really remember anything grossly gross about it.

Just finished
The Anvil of the World by Kage Baker. A light fantasy novel that was recommended by a friend, and I enjoyed it as well.
