Lies and slander! The red beetles from EPL (Carrion Scarabs) are also 39-40. I went and got one on my lowbie hunter last night.

I do agree that beetles are adorable, though. :D

And speaking of the lowbie hunter...

Name: Vanity
Level: 42. On the other hand, I'm a fast leveller and I have a level 85 hunter with a handful of free slots, so I have no objections to going to test a pet on my 85 hunter and then eventually pass it to the wee goblin once she's high enough.
Exotics: Not yet, but don't let that stop you.

In other words, no restrictions. If I get randomed a pet I already have I'll just review it anyway. 8-)

K, so I had a scorpion to tame, and unfortunately did not take pictures like I normally do. I've never had a scorpion before so it was pretty interesting. I specced him more tank than anything else... he held aggro just fine, of course his damage was pretty awful considering he was meant to be a tank. He did pretty good over-all, but there was something they did not sit right with him and I soon released him after seeing how he managed. As a tank, great, but I've never really been fond of tanking pets unless doing things I know would require it. I am still in search of a permanent tank friend in my party, though.

Go ahead and add me in for another roll.

Täboo no restrictions.

And now for my pet stories...Kormai first:

I got the Red & Yellow Spider, being Horde I went to outlands...easiest way really. I wasnt really sure of this pet from the beginning, I HATE spiders! So creepy with their 8 legs. Anyways, I had the hardest time finding them because I didn't realise these ones stealthed! I even had some friends come over to help me. Anyways I finally found one and tamed (pic 1 and 2). And I have to say I actually really like how it looks with Kormai (pic 3). It fits her theme...but it's still a spider and I don't pvp at all. I had fun creeping a friend out with it in Org making it follow him with the "move to" function, as he slowly backed away. :D Muwhahaha.

He is still in my stable, have not decided on a name or if I'm going to keep him yet. I do like the colours though.

And Kari:

She got the purple tallstrider, whose colours I really like. I already had a tallstrider before the shattering; Kari actually had the aqua one that you could only get from Darkshore. But when I heard about foxes and how much better their ability was I released it for a fox. Now that their abilities are going to be equal I may think about releasing the fox and keeping this gal. When I found out where they were I felt really bad for them (pic 4). Also found some bird statue thing...didn't do the Terrokar quests that much so I don't know the story here (pic5). Found the tallstrider on the furthest side of the "island"...I don't really know why...and tamed (pic 6)! I like how she looks with my hunter so I think I'm gonna keep it! (pic 7)

Only restrictions I ask is nothing found in raids, and no wrath/cata rares. BC/vanilla rares are perfectly fine.

Well - I already had one of the two pets you rolled for me tamed, so I'm just going to talk about both. :D

Image

I've had a blue dragonhawk since the skin became tameable; I'd tried a red dragonhawk before, and while I loved the animations I was distinctly unfond of the color. She's more purple than blue, really - purple body, fading into teal then cyan on the wings and tailfeathers.

It took me quite a while to pick out a name for her; I levelled her all the way from 77 to 84 (in instances, while levelling myself) using the default family name. Eventually, I settled on Tethys, the Greek goddess considered the embodiment of the waters of the world. Everything about her, from her colors to her animations, reminds me of running water, so the name fits.

Image

The wolf, on the other hand, I did not have. So I began, as one does, by looking through the page listing creatures with that skin.

The "barks when clicked" line caught my eye. And sure, I could've gone for the low-level wolves in Mulgore, but - being horde, and feeling adventurous - I decided to go for Spot instead.

I flew to Brackenwall Village and rode to Theramore. My bright idea was to ride through, feign death in a likely corner outside of guard aggro range then pop back up and tame.

So I rode through, found a safe-looking corner and feigned. And the guards promptly went "lol no" and killed me anyway. Apparently Theramore guards are immune to feign. Who knew?

Released and found myself at Tabetha's place. Cringed, expecting a long corpserun. Discovered the brand new bridge they put in place since the shattering. Awesome! That definitely shortens the run.

Ran back. Ressed in said safe-looking corner. Evidently it wasn't quite so safe, since I aggroed not only Spot but Guard Lana as well. Hit tame anyway, ended up getting killed with 1sec left on the tame. Gah.

Released, ran back, rezzed further back in the corner. Yay for safety! Dropped a trap just in case and pressed tame. This time it went perfectly.

Definitely keeping him. It's funny - looking at all the wolf models, I would say the only ones I can stand are the saber worgs, so if I'd gone to tame a wolf by myself I would've picked one of those. And yet on my 85 hunter I have Lone-Hunter-with-sword, tamed for a lark and named Whoops and I'm so attached to the big ghostly furball it's not even funny... and now I'm also attached to this critter. He has blue eyes! He barks! He's surprisingly adorable!

Now to find a good name for him. I have a naming theme on Vanity where I name all my pets after qualities (whether negative or positive), and all the likely ones (such as Loyalty) I've already used. Ho hum.

This was fun. Might come back for a second go once I've got a few more levels under my belt, if that's alright. :D

Funny thing, I used to hate bears.
That stopped a little while ago, when I tamed a dark brown bear and learned to love him.
That definitely helped with this report on the Black Bear. xD
No pics again! Argh!

Anyway. I first went to Ashenvale to look for the rare black bear, but I didn't find him. Sadness. I then flew to Feralas, looking for Old Grizzlegut. On the way, I ran into Snarler. He's really awfully cute, so I had to tame him. Then I moved on, and to my surprise, found my bear!

First things first, he's still a bit small. At least he's not kitten sized anymore, like level 10 bears are. He's also a very nice color, one of the two "healthy" bear colors that I actually like. He has intelligent eyes, with pupils - something I notice. O.o

As a bear, he's a pretty good tank, and quite cute. I like his roar attack, then animation makes me happy. And hibernate is just adorable - although it didn't seem to make him any happier.

His run animation is still slightly annoying, all round and bumbly, but I can live with that. I like his attack animations and his swim, so that makes up for it.

I think I'll be keeping him, and I'll name him some day. (Or did I already name him? I forget. x.x) He's a pretty cute little pet. :-) And so common that I NEVER see hunters with them!

Another? :-D
Tain, Horde

This is why I'm kind of a fan of common skinned pets. No offense to anyone here, but so many people go looking for rares to be unique (I'm guilty of doing it too, and I know there's more than just looks for some people when it comes to rares), that often times, I find that by using a common skin, I stand out more than another hunter with a rare.

Heh, I've found it to be the same, Tyger. Not to say I don't collect the rares that I like - I love all the new rare spawns (except Jade, poor spider) and I tamed all of them, but running around with my plain dusty white rhino Moose is much more unique. xD Besides, Moose can Horn Toss people up to tricky ores.
I always /pat hunter pets - in fact, I go out of my way to do so - but I /cheer the old skins. ^.^
