Geeehhh I really hope it isn't Tuesday. But yes, that's a very valid concern. It certainly happened to WoW enough times.

I really wouldn't be surprised... There's gonna be a scramble to get onto the site because of the way it has been down all week; if I didn't have dragons to sell and another nest to hatch, I'd just keep off the site except to feed my dragons, honestly.

I know I'll be one of those that jump back on asap. I need so much treasure.

They said the first new server they put up would fix that too and it made it worse :S

I could never see it (tho I might just be blind) but is there a button that makes it stop telling you someone has posted in a thread? I really hate it when I get heaps of messages of someone just stupidly going "bump" >.> That really does more harm then good to you you know.

The reason the first 2nd server made things worse was because they didn't realise that the 2nd servers location was MUCH further away then the primary server, which caused the issues, which is why they are bringing in the new secondary server, which will be much closer to the primary server resulting in faster communication between the two.

Cow, there might be something in the settings. But it if is your post that's being commented on, I am not sure...

So what you are saying they did not do their research? That does not make them look any better imo.

No I'm not talking about my threads. I dislike going "bump" in a thread. It does more damage then good.

Well, no, I am not saying anything like that. All I am doing is pointing out why the first 2nd server didn't work, as for whether they did their research or not, I don't know, I don't work for them. *shrug*

They had two secondary servers. One which, as you said, was too far away from their home location and made things worse. Then they got another one in the location of their main server and everything still got screwed up until they turned off search and new member sign up. And then the site just kind of exploded and they took it down for a week. I sincerely hope they got their damn coding straight this time; half the time they try to fix something, they break a few things in the process.

Right now, no one can play. All we can do is rant. I'm with tarn, they've had plenty of time, considering the downtime started last week with 8 hours expected, then 8 more, then they decided to take all week. Plus they had stated that that would be done on Sun - note the use of the words "fully completed" ("after server migration is fully completed on the weekend ending in Sunday"), and then yesterday they post that they'll "see us in a few days." *Ugh*

Why am I not surprised that they're taking even longer? Poor time management skills, they have them.

That care package better include enough treasure for me to gene my Imp at this rate -_- *grumbles*

A gene scroll would be nice to include in the care package imo.

I don't envy their position though, I must say. Whatever they do, it will be bound to piss someone off. They can't give us a lot of treasure as an apology, since that would just end up skewing the economy further, but they do need to somehow appease a bunch of angry people. Personally, I think giving everyone a free lair expansion would go some way toward making people happy. It won't happen of course, but it's what I would do if I was in a position of power there.

A free gene or scroll would be a nice enough care package for me. Just something that wont fuck up the already fucked up economy, ya know?

Mozag: a free lair expansion isn't doable since it'd be extremely unequal. Some people's expansion would be worth 5k, others much higher. I just hope the care package is OK, in that it shows users that the team knows how inconvenienced we were, and isn't some paltry little thing. Gene scroll would suit me just fine.
