Finished Hurley's Infidel. Didn't find it as exciting as the first (the curse of second books), but still want to read the next one!
Also read Sagara's Cast in Fury, the fourth Elantra book. Still enjoying that series as well.
Currently reading Shevdon's Sixty-one Nails, yet another fantasy novel set in modern-day London. I think the reason I like these sorts of books is that I have a fascination with cities that have been around for over a millenium. Definitely enjoying it so far.

Have just started reading
Railsea. It is criminal how much I love reading Mieville's books!

Enjoyed
Railsea better than most YA novels, but not as much as other Mievelle works. Another YA novel I just read and enjoyed is Wilce's
Flora Segunda. Will see about reading its sequels. I'm currently reading
Nightlight, a parody of
Twilight--not as much fun as it sounds
About to start reading Andrew's
Magic Bites (this month's book club selection). Also in the middle of reading Traviss'
Crossing the Line, a sequel to her
City of Pearl, highly recommend Karen Traviss. Quote from it I thought everyone here would appreciate:
"Do you know, I wouldn't even like that bloke as pet food."

I've been reading a lot of pokemon nuzlockes on another set of forums (partially because I'm writing my own and partially because I've read everything in my dorm room and my friend's apartments so many times things are starting to fall apart), but
Everybody Dies sticks with me in a way, that... It's amazing.
There were definitely times when it had me sobbing. Read away, dudes.

At the moment I'm re-reading the Harry Potter series at home, the Dark Tower series at work during lunch, and I read
A Street Cat Named Bob to my kitties when I'm home alone (they like to hear stories

). Afterwards I'm going to start the Game of Thrones series and the Wheel of Time series.

Aww, A Street Cat Named Bob sounds sweet. Too bad the ebook isn't available at B&N.

I've seen the ebook on Amazon if you're interested. I don't know how ebook compatibility across sites works though so please excuse my ignorance if that was a bad suggestion. If you're interested in cat stories though there are a few others you could check out on B&N:
Homer's Odyssey: A Fearless Feline Tale, or How I Learned About Love and Life with a Blind Wonder Cat
Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World
Making Rounds with Oscar: The Extraordinary Gift of an Ordinary Cat
I've read all of them and they are really heart-warming reads.

Thanks, I'll have to try one of those!

Tell me how you like it. I rate the series pretty high across the board, but my husband finds he has to suspend too much disbelief.
For myself: Nothing. Apparently my desire to read was housed in either my sartorius or vastus medialis muscles.

Sorry you don't feel like reading

Do they have you scheduled for reconstructive surgery?
I'll be sure to let you know about Magic Bites, plan on finishing it by sometime next week at the latest.

Off-topic: No to the reconstructive surgery - they were able to sew me up well enough during the operation. I have a divot in my leg but it's not that bad.
On-topic: I managed to re-engage my inner reader when I found out that Black Sun 2 was available on the Kindle. (Black Sun is a somewhat brutal historical yaoi manga.) Since then I've gone off on a sci-fi/fantasy LGBT & BDSM tangent, although I also read some new UF/PNR. (The
Dark Angels series by Keri Arthur is highly recommended.)

Have you read Susan Matthews' Jurisdiction novels? Dystopian sci-fi with torture and sadism elements. I recommend it, but I don't think it's in print anymore.
Think I'll try Dare's Avian series, downloaded the first one.

Not in print or digital, so far as I can see, but there are used copies for sale via Amazon. Is Exchange of Hostages the first one in the series? Unfortunately her web site isn't much helping me there.
On another topic:
I found a new M/M romance author I quite like: Z.A. Maxfield. She is very good at incorporating humor with deep but understated emotional complexity.
Friday I read Drawn Together - about a manga artist, a rabid fan, and a case of mistaken identity. It's cute, especially if you are familiar with the more common yaoi tropes. (And probably non-yaoi manga tropes as well, but I don't know those as well.) Saturday I read her only paranormal series - Notturno and its sequel, Vigil. Notturno is quite possibly the second-best vampire romance I have read, after Agyar by Steven Brust.
Antique document expert Adin Tredeger thought finding a pristine five-hundred-year-old homoerotic journal was tough. Wait until he finds out the man who wrote it wants it back.
And today I read the other two books by Maxfield that interested me: Rhapsody for Piano and Ghosts (which peripherally involves ghosts, but isn't otherwise very paranormal) and ePistols at Dawn, about a gay author with too many pseudonyms and an investigative reporter who is trying to protect one of the pseudonyms from what he sees as professional assault by another of the pseudonyms. It has some nice tweaks of the M/M romance genre and its readers.
Unfortunately I am now rather burned out on the author. Back to flagrantly bad paranormal fantasy!

Yes, Exchange of Hostages is the first.
I think I've worn out my current ereader. I want one of those Nooks with a built-in reading light. Bet I would end up reading more with one of those

Two books at the moment. The Nuts and Bolts of College Writing by Michael Harvey, which is a very clear, very informative little book on writing clearly and plainly, and the one I'm enjoying the most, How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas Foster. Foster's book is just amazing so far. I was expecting it to be awful, dry and tedious, but he's the most entertaining author I've happened upon on ages. He's got very good views on literature, but at the same time, he's not afraid to stray a little bit to add his own voice. At one point he was discussing the importance of Shakespeare in literature and the "imaginary student" (who asks questions in italics) asked, "So [quoiting Shakespeare] makes you seem smarter than, say, Rocky and Bullwinkle?" His response started with "Careful, I'm a big fan of Moose and Squirrel."
I just love this book. xD
Edit- pfffahaha
"Quick question. I'm walking down the road and suddenly I fall into a pond. What happens?
You drown?
Thanks for the vote of confidence."

As I mentioned earlier, have been reading the Wess'har series by Karen Traviss, will be starting Ally, the fifth novel, next.
On impulse, bought another Jacqueline Carey novel, Naamah's Kiss, before I read the lukewarm reviews. Not sure when I'll get around to reading it.
Also about to start The Black Prism by Weeks for my book club.

I need to get around to reading those. I'm one of apparently two people who enjoyed the show, and I've heard fabulous things about the books.
