Maps are at the bottom of the first post. :D No breakdancing, but I do intend to include the part where he goes for a swim!

That would be lovely, Quiv! I haven't been able to tie myself to a freshly spawned print with a stopwatch yet. ;)

Oh right - and it'll be out next week. :)

So far, two of Bristle's and one of Rockhide's disappear at the 5 minute mark, give or take 10 seconds. I believe it is 5 minutes on the dot because I sense some lag in their showing up for me.

This data, combined with how long they take to walk from one end of their path to the other can really help in track. Do we have that data?

I heard Bloodtooth takes an hour to go from one end to another.
Patrannache takes 90 minutes.
Hex takes an hour.

Edit Bloodtooth track also despawns right at the 5 minute mark. Pattern get!

Tracked and tamed Glimmer this morning near the Nectarbreeze orchard. Not sure if the path has changed or if the original was a guess but I tracked him a bit before I tamed him due to running out of play time. He turned north west of the stream and followed the blue path on this img.

Huh, that's the path I had originally. I wonder if he takes either fork or if I completely botched my map the second time.

Someone asked about if other classes can see tracks. It has been said a lot that they can't, but if any still doubt or are paranoid, this is for you :D

This is Savage's track on my hunter, left, and my paladin, right. Pally could not see them at all, so no worries if any still feared. I gave him away to an ally.

Yeah a lil bit over an hour, something like 15 minutes or so, maybe 20. Tracking him around 3am was a mental pain! I'm surprised I managed to make the map as accurate as possible though, going only from foggy memory.

For those of you that have witnessed the murder of one of these beasts, do they become visible to all upon death?

I assume so, since their stealth is a buff and the buff won't remain on a dead npc. Only reason I want to know is if some jackass does kill one, would a searching hunter have a chance to see it dead and therefor know to wait (assuming he found it before it despawned).

Gotcha. I personally think knowing the information on all the mobs is a good idea. Knowing that any track you find means the mob is no more than 5 minute pathing away, and knowing how long the entire path takes, I have used this to guesstimate fairly accurately where a mob should be along their path on several counts.

As an aside, I think Savage will be in the 45-60 minute range on his path, he was tamed before I could complete it. The "half way" point was around 20-30 minute.

I got Stompy last night. He spawns at the eastern end of his path and takes a very winding route until he starts going northward up the road. I now have gotten Portent (green), Savage, Bloodtooth, and Stompy.

I have printed out some of the maps and that makes things a lot easier than switching in and out of the game to check one.

Yep, he spawns on top of the hill behind that campfire place and walks down and around to the campfire. Then he goes somewhat nuts going up and down the hills and switching back a few times. He actually walks up a couple of hills where you can't go without flying. I tamed him right before he got to the northward bend in the road as he was coming to it from the west. I wish Titan Panel was working in the beta since I would have had coordinates if it was.

I was also surprised that his default spec is ferocity. I still say that Blizz should let us keep one of the rares when MoP goes live as a reward for testing out the system :D .

This guy sure does like to walk through some dangerous spots. Shortly after this pic, he got me and poor Stompy killed because my Camo got broken and feign was on cooldown. It's not the only place he goes that is fraught with danger. The swamp and lake is also pretty bad and he goes through two corrupted areas with large nasty things in them. I couldn't tame him because I had no empty slots but I followed him for the entire path.

Pray and wait lol :D

He takes an hour and a half to go from one end of his longgggggg path to the other, and his tracks are tiny. I camped a known place he walks by, but that may not be best for everyone.

Hello. I've been lurking for years, but with my recent surge of hunter activity and my decision to main him in the upcoming expansion for the first time ever, I figure it's about time I break the silence. So hi there.

Anyway. this thread has been amazing for my beta experience. Amazing guides, helpful maps and very well made youtube videos. Thanks for the hard work. You'll see more of me. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
