I seriously adore these bear forms, no idea which one I'm going to pick! Each time I see them I like them more. ^^

I LOVE the one Veph put up...Would definately make me one to make a tusked drood, mon! Lol

Am i the only one who thinks that trolls should get a raptor form instead of a cat form? The same abilities and everything, just a different model. i think it would work for everything except prowl xD

I was definitely thinking this when Troll druids were first announced. It's a shame they didn't go with alternative animal forms, but I suppose I understand why that would make things complicated.

As for prowl, there's the Deviate Stalkers in Wailing Caverns that can stealth.

Well If blizzard can Make each race have a different cat form/bear form, they should be able to make a raptor form almost as easily. Also, they've proven they can make the same ability go by different names with Bloodlust/Heroism, so even ability namewise, it wouldn't be that hard. This is also why I thought Worgen would get some variation of wolf as their dps form.

your right according to lore the druids people play are the druid of the wild types. meaning that they share many diffrent forms of animals in the wild.

I love the blue mohawked, greenish cat with the yellow face markings because it just puts me in mind of Cringer/Battle-Cat from He-man. Since it strongly looks like the partner bear form is the neon green bear with the blue mohawk, I'll probably start my druid off with white hair to get the white bear, its the only bear color I like, and then when I can get the cat form switch to blue to keep the cat form and run around in it the entire time I'm leveling. Of course this will depend if feral form will still be considered the best and quickest way to level a druid.

I agree completely. The Troll Druids worship the Loa which is not the same source of power as the Night Elves and Tauren draw from for their Druidic power. The Trolls should absolutely have different animal forms and I'm pretty disappointed that Blizzard slacked off here. The Trolls even have the moon symbol on them which is absurd.
But they probably didn't want to encourage a mass race change to Troll by going with different forms.

I was thinking the following would have made sense:

DPS form: Raptor
Tank form: Rhino
Flight form: Wind Serpent
Aquatic form: Water Snake
Travel form: Tiger

While I realise Tree form is going away, it would have been neat to have a weeping willow or other humid climate type tree or a Swamp Thing type form.

Hmmm, it's interesting to note that of all the troll instances thus far, there's been no sign of raptor god/loa worship. :\ I mean, raptors are obviously quite prevalent in troll civilizations. The Darkspears, Gurubashi and the Drakari are seen using them as mounts, companions and possibly beasts of burden. But no actual worship happening. The closest I've seen is Ohgan, Bloodlord Mandokir's raptor, and he is still very much just a pet. One may pop up as part of the inevitable troll instance in Cataclysm, but until then the tiger seems pretty solid lore-wise for a loa-shapeshifter-impersonating-a-druid troll.

Not that I wouldn't love me some raptor DPS form troll druid action. Just that current lore-wise, they don't make the most sense.

The Bear form kinda fits too. There are currently two different bear loas; Nalorakk and Rhunok... Okay Rhunok is a polar bear, still counts though. The only real problem comes from that they're not traditionally linked to the jungle trolls. But we've seen them summon other, non native loa up for voodoo hoodoo stuff before, so I can't see that being too much of a problem.

I do think that travel form and aquatic form should be different though. I'm all for a bat/wind serpent flight form and some... aquatic thing. XD Mangrove Tree form trolls ftw too.

... Goodness, I think I know waaaaay too much about troll lore. (WTB Troll-Aqir war books please. Let another race other than the night elves and humans have a bit of limelight eh?)

It's just because Blizzard is set on it being "cat form" and "bear form", not "dps form" and "tank form". I'm suspecting they'll also make "flight form" specified into "storm crow form". It's not like they couldn't change it, it would be interesting to see diverse forms, but for some reason they want druids to follow a similar path. I suppose the Trolls and the Worgen will also get to visit the bear spirit and do the quest to earn the form. That's just how it goes!

I know it's a popular idea to have each race represented as separate creatures, it would certainly distinguish each of the druids from each other and likely add greater influence to which one you would choose. The thing about druids though is that I don't really believe that each race would have race specific animal forms. I don't see how race should limit choice. Worgen and Trolls may take on different approaches to druidism but I think becoming a druid would still mean a devotion to all of Azeroth, preserving the balance of all aspects of life and nature. As a druid they learn to communicate with nature and as an adventurer/hero you are sent all over the world throughout your levels. A druid might find that he discovers a connection or appreciation for some creature other than what is native to his homeland or is steeped into his religion/lore. Druids used to select only one creature, if a Druid of the Wild means taking on any creature a Worgen could choose a stag as her travel form, or a Tauren could find a raptor more suitable instead of a lion.

If they had the time to make the models it would be fun to see a variety of tanking, dps and travel forms to choose from. Considering how we don't get to see armor or any accessories it would certainly add much more customization, not to mention confusion! WoW would become a crazy druid zoo... it'd be great. :p

And it would have been severely unfair for Nelf, Worgen and Tauren. They then would have made completely new sets for them all, which would take even more time up and would even take away from blizzard to maybe even possibly getting around to fixing Boomkin for all, instead of just giving a BS response of 'lulz everyone loves glitchy outdateded chickenbear!'


That is why Trolls do not have different animal forms no matter how much people say it would make sense and no matter how much sense it doesn't make given the fact that they are being given druid of the claw forms, instead.

Or, worse, how many would race change to Troll for these new forms? There would be a GLARING imbalance of druids for all servers since everyone would be rolling troll/rerolling to troll for shiny new forms!

And besides we really don't know what ANY lore is for troll druids atm, they could have been shapeshifters taken in/guided by the Tauren as the nelves guide the worgen.

Druids used to select only one creature, if a Druid of the Wild means taking on any creature a Worgen could choose a stag as her travel form, or a Tauren could find a raptor more suitable instead of a lion.

To be fair tho Travel form is a placeholder and the icon is a hoof.. so it was supposed to be a stag it seems anyways

In terms of "race changes" though I think Blizz would love it since it means more money. >_> I think like Worgen and Goblins it'd just be a new flavor and eventually people would get used to it. If every race had new creature forms it would be spread out a bit.. but it'd also put to waste what was made already unless they did what I suggested and gave each race a raptor form/gorilla form/bat form etc. It would take a lot more work unless they hired people to do it. They should use the sparklepony money.

^ This, no matter how much you think it would make sense it just isnt fair. Why should one race get amazing new custom forms while the other three dont? They shouldnt unless they have them ALL sparkly new forms.

No. No it would never balance out if Blizzard did do it and only allowed Trolls to have shiny differences for forms- because there are people who would flock to trolls just for the shiny and as I said there would be an imbalance of druids, to many horde side, not enough ally side. It'd be the Horde version of Alterac Valley paladins. IE the BG is never without atleast 15 paladins ally side, compared to 0-4 horde side.

Then as I said they would have to make new forms for everybody. And sorry to burst your bubble, but again that would cause hate and discontent. What if I'm happy with 'cat' and 'bear' form. isn't it enough cat and bear form are different? That each shows charistics of the race using it? How many people would be dissatisfied by making it fair for shiny forms, because you and others want 'raptor form' for Trolls?

I mean ffs updating the cat and bear forms caused enough whine as it was, could you imagine all of the QQing that would happen if they were suddenly ripped apart and we were given strange new forms, because 'Cat' and 'Bear' were so 05?

I had said "if every race had new creature forms", meaning not only Trolls, but actually Tauren, Night Elves and Worgen as well. Plus, if Trolls were chosen to receive brand new forms instead of cat and bear don't you think Worgen would have got them too? You can assume as much as you wish that everyone would flock to Trolls, but I will assume that there exist people who would prefer their present cats and bears. Once people jumped around as a new Troll/Worgen creature they could always change their minds. This is all just make-believe though.

I'm not saying you specifically are saying you want trolls to have raptor form- I am going by raptor form by the fact that the majority of the posts I've skimmed over here and read before, were wanting raptor form even before we got the troll drood forms released.

And tbh as I said I'd rather not have variety and Blizzard actually getting around to fixing Sealion, Travel, Boomkin and Tree, 4 forms in desperate need of replacement and or upgrading- instead of turning Druids into a walking zoo. I mean yes druids are shape changers but the fact is, where would the line be drawn for the 'variety'? I mean could you imagine how haywire it'd get? Because every form has atleast 5 color choices for that form, meaning any new fighting forms would again have 5 color choices per race, and people would most likely not be happy with downgraded versions, so yeah.

You guys can want and wish all you want but the sad fact of the matter is, we have 4 forms still that need fixing, more than implementing special troll only forms.

I absolutely agree that current forms still need work and updates, this is all just wishful thinking and what I would think of as a more interesting alternative to forced separate creatures for each race. They all ready said moonkin/aquatic/ and travel form are being updated and redone by the artist whos done these and the night elf/tauren forms as well.
